The newest Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six title will not feature a single player campaign. Rainbow Six :Siege Art Director, Scott Mitchell, has revealed at this year’s EGX event the only solo-play game modes are tutorials to learn the different operators and their devices before using them online.

Each operator uses different tools and gadgets

Mitchell expressed “โ€œThere is no story mode per se. You go through training, where you get to experience different operators and their devices. You can play against enemy AI in co-op through all the maps. You can customize matches, so thatโ€™s what weโ€™re offering on the single-player side of things.”

Despite the lack of offline game modes, Rainbow Six: Siege compensates in unlocks. Mitchell explained “Itโ€™s a pretty good training ground, and on top or that youโ€™re unlocking the same content as you would playing in PvP. Youโ€™re still gaining stars, reknown points, and new operativesโ€

The beta testing for the online pvp game modes has started, available to players who signed up earlier in the year. Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six: Siege is one of three Tom Clancy games under development at Ubisoft, the others being The Division and Ghost Recon: Wildlands. Rainbow Six: Siege will be released on December 1 2015, with 11 maps available at launch and additional content being added in the near future as free dlc.
