As you near the end of Chapter Four in Resident Evil 4, there’s only one task left for you to do: Figure out how to find Ashley in the Church. Being that it is the last mission within the chapter, you’ll find yourself face to face with a new puzzle, and access to new functions and abilities within the game. After you finally defeat El Gigante, it’s time to head back up to the Church. Following the path back to the Church after you leave the Quarry is pretty quiet, so you shouldn’t have many issues–at first. Keep reading to learn how to find Ashley in the Church in Resident Evil 4.

As you make your way up the path to the Church from the Quarry, only one enemy stands in your way, an infected Colmillos. Don’t worry too much about this enemy. You can stand back a ways and snipe at it with your rifle or even pull out your shotgun to take it out with a couple of shots without taking any damage.

When you approach the Church doors, you will see the lock that you faced before, but now you have the key to unlock it, the strange device with four hands. Using the device, unlock the door and head inside.

The first thing you will see as you approach the altar is a large, scrambled stained glass window.

Head over to the left wall and use the lever there in order to open up the altar, revealing 3 dial slots and only 2 dials. You will have to find the second dial in order to complete the puzzle.

Check around the church in every cabinet and on every table. You will find the Blue Dial in a cabinet.

Head back to the altar, and place down the dial. Spin each of the dials until they all fit perfectly around the insignia on the Stained Glass Window.

Once you’ve solved the puzzle, a ladder will drop down on the left side of the church. Climb up the ladder to the second floor now and head toward the door there.

Jordan is an experienced fantasy writer who spends hours behind her laptop, and lost in the pages of a book. She strives to be a successful gaming blogger, and has no complaint about the hours of game time she used to increase her knowledge of all things “geek”. She primarily writes gaming articles and fantasy novels. Ark: Survival Evolved is a favorite, along with Diablo 3, Warframe and Minecraft lately, though you can’t forget the good old Magic the Gathering card game! Writing about games truly gives her joy as it gives her another perspective to look at games from, a reason to really look into the mechanics of the game.
