Rihanna and Angel Reese have netizens talking all about them. Both stars appeared at the Footwear News Achievement Awards in New York City on December 4, 2024. Angel, who has been a trending topic on and off of the court, was there to be honored. The organization celebrated her with the title of Style Influencer of the Year. After all, the WNBA sensation has been praised by fashion icons, including Anna Wintour and Law Roach.
Angel popped out at the event in a black pantsuit, sparkly heels, and wavy black hair. Her looks caught the eyes of many. However, people were more concerned about her Instagram Stories with ASAP Rocky and Rihanna. After Reese met the global icon, known for hits like “SOS” and “Umbrella,” she took the opportunity to shoot her shot. And luckily for her, she didn’t miss. By the end of their brief conversation, the two beauties seemed to promise fans that a collaboration between them would be coming soon. So, what went down exactly?
Angel Tells Rihanna Sheโs Going To Work With Her One Day
This party was clearly the talk of the town. In addition to ASAP Rocky, Olympic gold medalist Gabby Thomas was also in attendance. However, Reese’s conversation with Rihanna is what took over social media. On X, formerly Twitter, Angel shared a post that sent everyone to her Instagram page. “Check my IG story if y’all wanna gag [right now],” she wrote.
On her page were two different clips of the walking double-double cozied up with Rihanna.
In one video, Rihanna told Angel she “better work” after the latter revealed she had much love for the singer. In another clip, Angel said to the Fenty Beauty founder that she would “work with you one day.” Rihanna, who owns a nearly $3 billion business, replied, saying she was “always ready.”
“Let’s do it,” she said.
Under @TheShadeRoom’s comments, fans praised Angel for her go-getter swagger. “Closed mouths don’t get fed,” one user wrote. “I know that’s right, Angel.” Another also chimed in, saying they were “happy for Angel Reese.” They continued, saying she’s a woman of color who has a wonderful “success story” to tell. “You only got one shot! Take it when you can,” a third person added.
Could Angel Work With Fenty?
Although many people were excited about Angel’s moment with Rihanna, a few others shared different opinions. “Rihanna LIED, sis,” one person wrote, while another said the singer was “lying through her teeth.”
It’s unclear if Rihanna was being polite or if she really has plans to work with the WNBA star. But if Angel does pop out with a Fenty contract one day, many fans won’t be surprised. Before leaving Louisianna State University, Angel had one of the highest NIL (name, image, and likeness) valuations among college athletes. Additionally, her personality, beauty, and skills on the court have snagged her major deals with Reebok and Beats.
Most recently, Angel signed partnership contracts with Reeses and Cash App, providing fans with custom merch. So, could the 6’3″ power-forward end up working for Rihanna and her beloved Fenty Beauty brand? It’s certainly possible, and fans will have to stay tuned to see what happens.
