Rob Lowe isn’t afraid to publicly speak out about his fascination with the paranormal. The About Last Night star has been open about his strong belief in ghosts. He’s even admitted to his late family and friends contacting him from the other side. However, it is one close late celebrity pal in particular who remains in constant contact.
Throughout his career, Rob Lowe has revealed he and his family have a huge interest in all things paranormal. Lowe’s interest in the supernatural is also evident in his 2017 A&E show, The Lowe Files.
The reality series followed Rob and his sons, John Owen Lowe and Edward Matthew Lowe, as they traveled through the country to explore infamous mysteries. The series was short-lived, with only nine episodes. However, it reveals the Lowe family’s love of all that is spooky with a bond that Rob hopes is carried on throughout generations.
Most recently, during his May 8 SiriusXM’s Literally podcast show, Rob Lowe and guest Fraiser star Kelsey Grammer discussed their interest in mediumship and the paranormal. During the segment, Rob admits many late family members and friends who reach out during his sessions with a medium.
Rob claims he gets a lot of visits from one person in particular. Surprisingly enough, he says it is not his late mother. According to People, Lowe admits that the one person who contacts him the most is the late Twister star Bill Paxton.
Bill Paxton Visits Rob Lowe From Beyond The Grave
“Do you ever have people in your life that you think would come up in readings that just don’t make as much of an appearance? For example, my mother rarely shows up. Rarely,” Lowe admitted during the conversation. “And then I have the great actor Bill Paxton. Who was a great friend, and that f—— guy is everywhere all the time.”

Bill Paxton is best known for his film career in numerous hits, including Twister, Tombstone, Apollo 13, and Frailty. Paxton sadly passed away in 2017 at the age of 61, shortly after revealing he had a damaged aortic valve.
In February 2017, Bill Paxton underwent open-heart surgery at Cedars-Sinai Hospital to repair the damage. The next day, he was rushed back into the operating room for an emergency second surgery. His condition deteriorated over the following 10 days, and he sadly passed away. The actor’s unexpected death left his family and fans completely heartbroken.
Besides being close friends, Rob Lowe and Bill Paxton co-starred in two films together, The Dark Backward, and again in Frank and Jesse. Following Paxton’s death, Lowe was one of many Hollywood stars who paid tribute. Lowe honored Paxton, writing, “My close friend and one of the finest actors in the business,” in a heartfelt post on X.
