The number of people leaking information on movies seems to have skyrocketed in recent years. Deadpool 3 is one of those productions to have faced multiple leaks, leading to a statement from leading star Ryan Reynolds. The actor posted his statement on his Instagram story to emphasize the importance of “surprises” as a “part of the magic of theatrical movies” while clearing the air about the situation.

While hitting on the difficult parts of the Deadpool 3 leaks, Ryan Reynolds ends on a positive note. He hopes for people and outlets to “hold back showing images before they’re ready.” This is all to maintain the “magic” and deliver something that is “built for audience joy.”
The film is built for audience joy — and our highest hope is to preserve as much of that magic as possible for the finished film and the big screen. Part of the reason people post spoilers is because they’re excited. I realize these aren’t real world issues and it’s firmly in the ‘good problems’ bucket.

Ryan Reynolds has shown plenty of things for Deadpool 3 that certainly got approval from Marvel Studios, like showing Dogpool and Wade’s ruined skin. In recent years, major surprises have been ruined, like the plentiful cameos in Spider-Man: No Way Home that spread online well before it hit theaters.
