We’ve all seen that movie that has spawned the meme of, “What’s in the box?!” Well, it seems that the Ohio version is now “What’s in the bag?!” because some Save A Lot stores have introduced Mystery Bags. These puzzling containers that go for five dollars have confused a lot of Ohio residents, making them wonder what’s inside them. Could the contents include dinner ingredients? A bunch of random one-dollar products? Napkins? Or something else? The truth is that no one knows yet, but people are asking for a few brave souls to spend those five bucks and solve the new Ohioan mystery.
Redditor brockm92 shared the image on the Ohio subreddit, showing the Mystery Bags inside a Save A Lot establishment. He titled it, “What’s for dinner, babe?” “Idk yet, but it’s only 5 bucks.” The latter refers to the fact that each Mystery Bag costs 5 dollars (we assume that without taxes). However, what’s really puzzling is that no one on the state’s subreddit has shared the contents of the bag yet, making these bags even more mysterious.
Some people believe that this is a way for the store to sell some of the food that is about to expire. In truth, that’s a strategy many stores and even some restaurants use. They put food on sale to make it leave the store and avoid food waste. Others are talking about how it seems that Save A Lot is embracing the gacha or loot box aspect in some video games for its Mystery Bags.

So far, no one has come forward to say what the Save A Lot Mystery Bags contain, but if you’re in Ohio, especially in Wyandot County, that’s where the bags are. If not, we can only wait for a brave soul to open the bag and unveil the goodies inside. My money is still on dinner items, but it could be entirely different.
