Since Disney gained control over Star Wars, the fanbase has been effectively split in half. However, despite the drama surrounding Disney’s Sequel Trilogy, The Mandalorian has always been an example of what kind of Star Wars Disney has the possibility of creating. Mando’s success should not be a surprise to any fan of the franchise. The Mandalorians are a race of warriors who, until the Clone Wars TV series, were mostly unexplored. However, with The Mandalorian and Grogu wrapping filming, what does that mean for a possible season four of the series?

According to Gamerant, The Mandalorian season four is allegedly back on the table! Mando season four has been rumored to be in “active development” at Lucasfilm studios. Pedro Pascal’s Din Djarin, aka the Mandalorian, was the first of Disney’s Star Wars live-action TV shows. It would be followed by the Kenobi, Boba Fett, Andor, and Ahsoka shows as well. However, the rumors of season 4 being worked on have not been confirmed as of right now.

‘The Mandalorian’ season 4 is reportedly back on the table & in active development.

Star Wars: The Mandalorian Has Kept Disney Afloat Since Purchasing the Franchise

The Mandalorian can thank its success over the years to the one and only Grogu. Also known as “baby Yoda.” Grogu is the series’ comic relief character. Grogu is, in fact, the same species as the legendary Grand Master of the Jedi Order, Yoda. However, very little is known about Grogu and Yoda’s species except for their exceptionally long lives. When Master Yoda passes away in Return of the Jedi, it is stated he is 900 years old. While on the other hand, Grogu is confirmed to be around 50 years old. However, for his race, 50-year-olds are still considered babies.

The Mandalorian and Grogu film was originally supposed to wrap up Din and Grogu’s stories. However that just may not be the case now. The Mandalorian may just make Disney too much money to end so soon. A season four of the show, if done correctly, could then officially wrap the show up after the film sets up a solid ending.

Din Djarin and Grogu have been on a long and fantastic journey together so far. From Grogu being just another job to Din, all the way to the two being inseparable. One thing Star Wars knows how to do is pull on the heartstrings. However, nothing is confirmed regarding a possible season four of The Mandalorian. Although even if it is just a rumor, fans still have a grand finale to catch on the big screen in 2026!
