A month after the announcement, the hit television comedy series “Seinfeld” has come to Netflix, available on the platform starting today (October 1). You can now watch all 180 episodes of Seinfeld on Netflix. In September, the streaming platform had released a trailer in anticipation for what was described as “2021’s hottest new show”. Although viewers can stream Seinfeld on Netflix starting today, the streaming giants had reached a deal for the sitcom’s streaming rights in 2019. The deal had cost $500 million.

Regardless of its delayed arrival, fans will be excited to catch Seinfeld on Netflix as the 10-time Emmy Award-winning comedy had a huge influence on pop culture from the 90s through to today. The show about a group of friends living in New York City was created by comedians Jerry Seinfeld and Larry David, airing for nine seasons and ending in 1998.

Although a mouth-watering, ridiculous price tag, Netflix does not own exclusive rights to the show. Along with streaming on Netflix, Seinfeld will still continue to air on Viacom networks like Comedy Central, Paramount Network, and TV Land.

The 10-time Emmy Award-winning comedy about a group of friends living in New York City was created by comedians Jerry Seinfeld and Larry David and ended on NBC television in 1998 after nine seasons. The co-creator of the show, Jerry Seinfeld, had joked about the planned release of Seinfeld on Netflix back on September 1, thanking the streaming platform for “taking a chance” on the two showrunners.

“It takes a lot of guts to trust two schmucks who literally had zero experience in television when we made this thing,” Seinfeld had said.

In early 2021, Rolling Stones named Seinfeld one of the Best Sitcoms of All Time, barring Cheers and The Simpsons.

“Yes, co-creators Jerry Seinfeld and Larry David obsessed over ephemera, but they did it with the kind of comic precision the medium had never seen before,” critic Alan Sepinwall had said.
