Selena Gomez had more than her Cannes Film Festival minidress to handle, as users commented on her style earlier this year. In May, the 31-year-old stunned the cameras in a fun, polka-dot number, showing off her love of retro chic while highlighting her gorgeous figure.
Turning heads in a monochrome minidress with puffy sleeves and cute black heels, Selena checked boxes for style, although some still managed to find fault with her outfit. Gomez, who won Best Actress for her Emilia Perez movie at the Festival, also made headlines for rocking an array of designer outfits during her time in the swanky French resort town. Flaunting her toned legs and shapely waistline, Selena wowed in a leggy white Jacquemus dress with black polka dots. Going paneled with a form-fitting bodice, the actress switched things up with large sleeves, also clutching a black purse.

Trolls Saying She ‘Hasn’t Got The Legs For It’
When The Daily Mail published the photos, fans had mixed reviews.
“Stunning! Looks great. Dress is very cute,” one replied. Then again, another said they thought it looked “cheaply made.”
Over 40 fans liked a body-shaming remark, one reading: “Those are definitely the wrong shoes for this dress, and she doesn’t have the legs for it.” Selena has made headlines this year for publicly and bravely addressing her curves. In January, she told fans that taking medication to manage her Lupus condition can affect her weight.
Appearing to agree that Gomez should’ve picked a different look, a further user wrote: “She’s adorable but needs a new stylist. Clothes never look like they fit on her.“
Selena has since been in the news for her Fourth of July celebrations with boyfriend Benny Blanco, 36. The couple has been dating since the end of 2023, with fans very much seeming to think that Benny may be the one. The producer and songwriter has even confirmed that he wants to marry Selena and start a family with her.
