Shocking San Diego Hate Crime Sparks Outrage Among Locals: ‘Handgun Time’

During Pride month???

Hate crimes against the LGBTQ+ community are nothing new. In fact, you might think that they only started increasing under the Trump administration. A recent hate crime was caught by a San Diego local who saw a vandalized house while on a walk. He wrote in disbelief, “I’m babysitting a dog today and I took him on a walk around the neighborhood when I came across this. I am furious and heartbroken. How is this still happening? How is it happening here in San Diego?”

In the picture shared by the local, you can see a house with a pride flag outside it, but this isn’t what catches your eye. The first thing you notice is the hate crime committed there. On the walls of the house, someone used spray paint to write “Jew” and “homo.” There is also the number 535, along with a question mark. It’s worth noting that the house number is 536. In addition to this, the word children is also there next to an arrow pointing to the next house. I can’t imagine what the owners might have felt when they saw this for the first time. Hate crimes shouldn’t be happening today. Yet, they don’t seem to be stopping anytime soon.

People Reacting to the Hate Crime in San Diego

Of course, San Diego locals were angered that such an act took place. Since it didn’t seem like the house had cameras outside it, someone wrote, “Camera time.” Another person replied and said, “Handgun time too.” I mean, this could become violent, and the owners should protect themselves. Someone else described whoever did this to be a sad person. “These people have so much hate and practically no fortitude A coward full of hate Is a sad and scary person,” they wrote. There was one comment that shared the view of OP as they said, “F**k that shit. No place in SD for that. Edit: no place ANYWHERE for that shit.”

Since the “535?” might seem ambiguous, someone was kind enough to provide an explanation when one person asked for the meaning. “The vandalized home is 536 – there’s an lgbtq flag on it and the ‘535 children’ sign probably means there’s ‘innocent’ children that should not be exposed to gayness. Now they get to read slurs as a bonus,” they wrote. When someone wrote, “This seems like psychotic tweeker shit.” One person also assumed that the criminal belongs to MAGA. “Yeah, definitely a MAGA.” All hate crimes are definitely terrible, which made several people sympathize with the house owners. “This is horrible, sending love to the people who live in that home,” one person wrote. I just hope that the coward who did this will get arrested.
