Since its announcement, Ubisoft Singapore has promised that its next pirate game, Skull and Bones, will be the best. However, the project has been in development for a couple of years and has received about 6 delays with no set release date. Its performance in beta testing has not received the best reviews, so it is now doubtful whether it will be the game Ubisoft promised. Now, the last creative director of Skull and Bones has just left his post in Singapore to return to the head office in Paris.

Elisabeth Pellen was the third person who took Skull and Bones in a new direction. The creative director sought to reestablish the RPG features and to improve the combat experience. For this, Pellen sacrificed a bit of multiplayer features to focus more on exploring the open world. Since the introduction of Elisabeth to the Skull and Bones team, it has been proclaimed that it is normal for teams to change their creative directors. Sadly, Elisabeth is now working in Ubisoft Paris and is no longer involved with Skull and Bones. It is currently uncertain who’ll helm the project as the new creative director, but this game’s future looks bleak as always.

Currently, Skull and Bones has an estimated release date of April 2024 if there is no further delay or any other problems like a notable departure. For now, Ubisoft Singapore has left a lot to be desired with this development. Yet, a few remain hopeful that it will be a game that exceeds expectations. Skull and Bones has very interesting features that want to make players feel like real pirates and be able to plunder other ships. We hope Ubisoft delivers because we’ve been waiting for a while, and other games of the genre are becoming bigger by the day while this one keeps sinking further.
