Space Ghost voice actor, George Lowe, has died at the age of 67 after battling a long illness. Lowe was known for many roles in Adult Swim, mainly that of Space Ghost. However, he also lent his talent to other projects, such as Aqua Teen Hunger Force, Robot Chicken, Squidbillies, and more. Beyond that, he also worked on other projects outside of Adult Swim, like Celebrity Deathmatch and American Dad. It’s sad to see another legend go, especially one who had such a huge impact in the many shows he worked on.
George Low Dead After Battling a ‘Long Illness’
The passing of the Space Ghost voice actor George Lowe was initially announced by his friend “Marvelous Marvin” Boone on Facebook.
I’m beyond devastated. My Zobanian brother and best friend for over 40 years, George Lowe, has passed away after a long illness. A part of me had also died. He was a supremely talented Artist and Voice actor. A true warm hearted Genius. Funniest man on Earth too. I’ve stolen jokes from him for decades. He stole some of mine. He was also the voice of Space Ghost and so much more. Pweeloto.

So far, details of his death aren’t clear, other than Lowe passed away after a long illness. Authorities and family members have yet to disclose what the illness was. The official Adult Swim also shared a post about Lowe, as you can see above. As we mentioned, Lowe was an integral part of many shows at Adult Swim, so his passing shook many who worked with him for many years.
George Lowe’s Career
While George Lowe started working on the radio at a young age, he rose to fame thanks to his work at Space Ghost Coast to Coast as a voice actor. He worked on this show, which was a parody of late-night shows for many years, while also lending his talent to other projects. However, many will remember him as the one and only Space Ghost.
If you’re not familiar with his work, here’s a clip of Space Ghost Coast to Coast, featuring Radiohead’s Thom Yorke. As you can see, the show was a great way to parody the big talk shows of the moment, and the talent Lowe had was unmatched. We’ll all miss this legend now that he’s gone.
