We all know speedrunners are not only lightning fast, but that they make the most insanely difficult challenges look like an infant’s playground. Seriously, what does it take to stop these guys? Is it even possible? That’s what we’re here today to find out. Using Pikmin 3, a game all about propagation of assets, planning, and cunning battle strategy, it’s time to prove that these speedrunners, like the rest of us, really are just average humans.ย Let’s see. First, they have to beat it 100%. But let’s add the restriction of no Pikmin deaths allowed, a ten-day time limit, and make them do all of this with less than 50 Pikmin. So how about that? Have we successfully created an impossible Pikmin 3 scenario?

The short answer is, no, we most certainly have not.

You’ve got to be kidding me. Someone actually accomplished this? The answer is yes. In Pikmin 3,ย several tasks can be completed very quickly by multitasking with all three pilots. While a large army of Pikmin can complete a single task in record time, a smaller number can achieve results throughout the map by splitting up. It may take each squad longer at each task, but it saves time in the long run when you don’t have to move a large unit from one place to the next each time.ย Watch carefully and you’ll even learn techniques for saving Pikmin who are about to be eaten, and how to perform a few glitches as well.ย But the real key to success in Pikmin 3 is planning and knowing what lies ahead of you. It’s a game that proves knowledge is an unstoppable force that can surmount any obstacle.
