In less than 2 weeks, Sony/Marvel’s Spider-Man: No Way Home has reached $536.6 million at the domestic box office, becoming the no. 12 film overall in the U.S. and Canada. It now swings past The Dark Knight ($534.8 million) and Rogue One: A Star Wars Story ($532.1 million), with Disney’s The Lion King ($543.6 million) and Disney/Pixar’s Incredibles 2 ($608.5 million) in its sights.

According to Deadline, Sony is reporting that the 13 day gross is the third-highest of all time domestically behind Avengers: Endgame ($652.9 million) and Star Wars: The Force Awakens ($629 million). On Wednesday, No Way Home racked up an additional $20.2 million at the box office, making it the third-best second Wednesday of all time.

Recently, No Way Home became Sony’s highest-grossing picture of all time, overtaking the previous Spider-Man endeavor, Spider-Man: Far From Home. In fact, Spider-Man continues to rake in the dough at the box office for Sony, as the only film within Sony’s top 5 that isn’t a Spider-Man film is Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle at $404 million.

The latest Tom Holland Spider-Man flick continues to break box office records even in a pandemic. No Way Home had the third-best opening weekend at the domestic box office with $253 million. In addition, the film has been a big hit with critics and audiences, which may be helping the box office with strong word-of-mouth and people who are willing to go back to the theaters to see it multiple times.

In terms of competition, there hasn’t been much for No Way Home, except for maybe Illumination’s Sing 2, which has collected $62.3 million in its 8-day gross. Also in theaters is The Matrix Resurrections which hasn’t been faring as well with an 8-day domestic total of $25.8 million, along with The King’s Man (8-day domestic total of $13.6 million) and American Underdog (5-day total of $9.6 million). It seems like for the holiday week, many are continuing to go see No Way Home, and what an incredible gift it is, for both fans and Sony.
