DC is getting ready to party with its upcoming seasonal anthology, Spring Breakout. The eighty-page offering will feature eight stories told by some new, as well as established, creators. This includes Meghan Fitzmartin, Mike Barr, Paul Pelletier, and Kenya Danino. These creators are showing off how some of DC’s fan-favorite characters are celebrating the beginning of Spring. This includes Harley Quinn planning a breakout and the Teen Titans planning a beach vacay.

As with DC’s other seasonal offerings, Spring Breakout is celebrating all things Spring in the DC Universe. According to an official synopsis, the anthology lands in the middle of a beautiful Spring in the DC Universe. As flowers bloom and bees buzz, Harley Quinn plans a jailbreak for King Shark from Belle Reve. Meanwhile, Lex Luthor is busy breaking out of a coffin. Elsewhere, Superman is handling some Spring Break training, and Batman and Mr. Freeze are connecting through their shared past. Spring Breakout is bringing all of this and more to Spring Break 2024.

The anthology also features a gorgeous main cover from artist John Timms. Plus, Batman/Superman: World’s Finest artist Dan Mora brings not one, but two variant covers to Spring Breakout.

Celebrating The Seasons

Spring Breakout is just another anthology in a line of seasonal offerings from DC Comics. Last month, DC brought readers ‘Twas the Mite Before Christmas a Christmas anthology. It featured eight Holiday-themed tales starring everyone’s favorite DC heroes, like Batwoman and Constantine.

Meanwhile, this February will bring readers a Rom-Com inspired Valentine’s Day special called How to Lose a Guy Gardner in 10 Days. This anthology features eight new stories about the messy love lives of DC’s characters like Batgirl and Plastic Man. It draws inspiration from classic films like 50 First Dates and How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days.

DC’s Spring Breakout launches on 04/30.
