The Steam Summer Sale has officially arrived and everyone’s favorite games, from AAA behemoths to Indie darlings, have received huge discounts. As always, this series continues to go over the best bargains that will take place each weekend on the video game service.

7 DAYS TO DIE – 60% Off

Steam

This open world survival game has come a long way since it’s Early Access release back in December of 2013 and has taken on a cult following. The events of 7 Days to Die occur after a nuclear Third World War destroyed an extremely large part of the world, turning many into zombie-like creatures. The game’s crafting and RPG elements are reminiscent of a 3D zombie apocalypse version of Minecraft. It also boasts stellar Co-op, with each day the players survive becoming more difficult, as enemies gain power. This deal is perfect for a group of friends to waste away playing and will save survivors $15.00, discounted from $24.99 to $9.99.

THE BORDERLAND SERIES – 70% to 82% Off

Steam

Borderlands as a whole will always hold a special place in my heart, as it just contains so many unique elements gameplay and story wise. The franchise can be defined by its comic like cell shaded graphics, vulgar, yet flamboyant characters, and it’s endless array of guns…as it literally has millions of different types, each more elaborate than the last. There are a lot of different deals on Steam for Borderlands right now, both individually and bundled together, but the best bang for your buck is the “Take Over Your Life Bundle.” The bundle includes every installment in the series including, Borderlands: The Zombie Island of Dr. Ned, Borderlands: Mad Moxxi’s Underdome Riot, Borderlands: The Secret Armory of General Knoxx, Borderlands: Claptrap’s Robot Revolution, Borderlands, Borderlands 2, Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel, Tales from the Borderlands. The Vault is open hunters, so take advantage of the deal while you can to save $21.06, dropping from $24.99 to $3.93.

HALF-LIFE 2 – 90% Off

Steam

I’ve never been a huge Half-Life fan, but there is no doubting that the second installment in the series is one of the best games of all time. Playing as the mute crowbar-wielding man known as Gordon Freeman, traverse a dystopian society full of Nazi-like soldiers and mutated creatures like Headcrabs, Antlion, and Barnacles. Half-Life 2’s unique setting and a vast array of combat options, mostly from the physics defying gravity gun Freeman wields, results in a damn good time. Join the rest of the poor head crab zombies waiting for the third installment now, as it currently at a trivial $0.99 on Steam, usually $9.99.

SINGULARITY –  75% Off

Steam

Singularity is one of those wrong place, wrong time type of games. The 2010 first-person shooter developed by Raven Software released during a time where it was overshadowed by pre-established franchises like Mass Effect 2, Call of Duty: Black Ops, Halo: Reach, Fallout: New Vegas and Rockstar’s Red Dead Redemption. Singularities main gameplay mechanic revolves around an artifact known as the Time Manipulation Device, which does exactly as the name states and results in some really fun gameplay. The games survival horror aspect would do well in the current release cycle as well, as games like Resident Evil 7 and Outlast have recently reinvigorated the genre. Take advantage of this great deal while Steam uses their own TMD device to discount it from $29.99 to $7.49, but get it before time runs out.

FAR CRY – 66% Off

Steam

The Far Cry series has evolved into one of the most interesting franchises currently around today, traveling to unique settings – with similar gameplay elements for each – that feature wacky and insane characters. At its roots, the original Far Cry game was a simple action shooter that tasked players with keeping Freelance mariner Jack Carver alive on an island full of gun-wielding bad guys. It might not look like much in comparison to Far Cry 4 nowadays, but this is a great chance for players to get a taste of just how much the series has evolved in the time leading up to Far Cry 5’s release. Far Cry is currently discounted from $9.99 to $3.39, saving users $6.60.

THE WITCHER 3: WILD HUNT GAME OF THE YEAR EDITION (DEAL OF THE WEEK) – 50% Off

Steam

I’ll be the first one to tell you I have a complete bias for the Witcher series, I’ve read the books and bought and played every game in the franchise. I am also aware that The Witcher series is not for everyone, especially combat wise, but the deal they are currently offering is too great to pass up. Not only does The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Game of the Year Edition let players traverse through the magical world of the Northern Realms, meeting, fighting and possibly romancing mythical creatures and charismatic humans alike, both of it’s DLC’s will be included as well. The two adventures, Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine, not only expand upon the great elements of the main stories, they introduced ten times as much of it. In reality, the stories and adventures that make up the two DLC’s really qualified as their own games, with each taking a minimum of 20 hrs to complete. Pick up this Witcher contract today and save $25.00 on one of the best bundles of games this generation, as the Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Game of the Year Edition is now on Steam for $24.99.

These offers end Monday, July 5th at 1:00 PM EST.
