Steph Curry‘s wife, Ayesha, has finally shared her thoughts about Drake, including her name in his song, Race My Mind. Fans would recall that Drake released the track in 2021 as part of his album Certified Lover Boy. In the song, Drake‘s lyrics about Ayesha were only one line, but it portrayed the actress as the perfect wife. Since the track dropped, fans have been waiting to know how Ayesha felt about the lyrics. Recently, the 34-year-old shared that she didn’t mind getting a shout-out from the rapper.

Drake’s Race My Mind is undoubtedly one of the singer’s best tracks of all time, debuting at No. 18 on Billboard’s Hot 100 Songs chart. Like many other great songs, one of the best things about the track was its lyrics, particularly Drake’s lyrics about Ayesha. Considering how the rapper and Steph share a beautiful friendship, Drake’s portrayal of Ayesha was unsurprising. The Canadian honored Steph Curry’s wife in the song, referring to her as the ultimate wife material.
“How I’m supposed to wife it?/ You not Ayesha enough,” the icon rapped.
Ayesha Responds to Drake’s Lyrics About Her
Three years after Drake released the song, Ayesha has finally opened up about her initial reaction to the shout-out. During Monday’s episode of Watch What Happens Live, a fan asked the cooking TV personality how she felt about Drake, including her name in the song. Replying, Ayesha admitted to being dumbfounded, as she didn’t expect to hear her name in a Drake song.
“I think I was dumbfounded. I just – it’s one of those things,” Steph Curry’s wife said.
The cookbook author further revealed that she appreciated them for respecting her enough to feel like she was a great wife. Similarly, the 2021 song wasn’t the first time Drake gave recognition to a member of the Curry family in his song. In his 2010 song 0 to 100/ The Catch Up, Drake mentioned Steph’s name. The lyrics of the song read:
“I been Steph Curry with the shot/ Been cookin’ with the sauce, chef, curry with the pot, boy.”
Ultimately, it was a fun way to acknowledge Steph Curry’s great basketball skills by comparing them to cooking skills.
