While many politicians in the US are tiptoeing around getting the country involved in Israel’s new and ongoing war with Iran, Texas Senator Ted Cruz might have accidentally spilled the beans. Senator Cruz recently went on an interview with conservative commentator Tucker Carlson, where the debate led to the senator suggesting something big, or perhaps it’s just a slip of the tongue.
The 2-hour interview was uploaded on YouTube on Tucker Carlson’s channel, where he mostly confronts Ted Cruz about toppling Iran. One of the most notable clips of the interview is when Carlson started asking Cruz whether he knew how many people were in Iran, and to the host’s amusement, the senator didn’t seem to know much about the country he wants toppled. Here’s the clip:
This led to what appeared to be frustrating for Cruz, where he started arguing against Carlson and getting defensive. The argument then led to Cruz saying the following, followed by a quick erratum:
“We are carrying out military strikes today… I said ‘we,’ Israel is leading them, but we’re supporting them… We’re not bombing them, Israel’s bombing them,” says Ted Cruz in the Tucker Carlson interview
Carlson was quick to point out that the US government was, in fact, not acting on Israel’s behalf despite Cruz’s suggestions or wording mistake. To be fair, Cruz at least knew what the general population of Iran is, even though Carlson insists that the senator knew nothing about the country he wants toppled.
Cruz, meanwhile, is adamant about his stance that Iran was and is still trying to assassinate US President Donald Trump and that Iran is also building missiles aimed at the US, not just Israel.
Both are Conservatives, So Pick Your Poison
Despite the amusing political debate– which many admit is bordering on satire– others have pointed out that both Ted Cruz and Tucker Carlson are conservatives. Cruz is notably a Republican, while Carlson, in the past, has supported the Republican Party and to this day still sticks to his conservative political circle.
People online were a little reluctant on who to cheer on in Tucker Carlson’s interview since neither man has had the most positive political track record or public perception. That didn’t stop them from celebrating Ted Cruz looking a little foolish on the internet.
Some, however, have accused Ted Cruz of being backed by Israel while Tucker Carlson is backed by Russia, as ridiculous as it sounds. Regardless of the outcome of Tucker Carlson’s interview with Ted Cruz, the US government’s stance so far about joining the Israeli-Iran war (on Israel’s side, of course) is a resonant “maybe.”

“Never thought I’d be cheering tucker carlson on. He’s still garbage, but still anyone eating ted’s face gets some points,” says -Lorne-Malvo-
“Too little, too late from Tucker. He knowingly played a critical role in brainwashing an army of MAGA hicks, and when they lose whatever conflict comes next, he should be treated accordingly,” claims East-Will1345
