The Dark Pictures: Little Hope, the second part of Supermassive Games’ eight-part The Dark Pictures Anthology, has been delayed to this Fall due to coronavirus.

In a post on the Supermassive Games Twitter account Thursday, the company posted a letter from CEO and executive producer on the anthology, Pete Samuels. The letter said that since March, the 200-person team has been working from home. Unfortunately, working from home is easier for some aspects of game development than it is for others. “Our priority has been to keep people safe, and that includes actors and stage crews on whose talents we depend so heavily, other workforces external to our business who all help to create the games we make, and all the talented people that work within our studio,” the letter said.

The Dark Pictures: Little Hope was supposed to release this Summer. A trailer for the game was released in April.

Fitting into the genres of interactive drama and survival horror, The Dark Pictures: Little Hope has players taking control of five characters trapped in a New England ghost town known for witch hunts in the 17th century. Choosing between dialogue options and responding to quick-time events, the choices players make affect the story and can lead to different endings. The game features pass-the-controller co-op for up to five people, and an online co-op mode for two players.

Supermassive Games was founded in 2008 and has worked primarily on PlayStation and PC games. The Dark Pictures Anthology is the company’s first series to appear on Xbox. The company has a proven track record with interactive and survival horror games, having developed Until Dawn and Hidden Agenda.

Last year in an interview with TheSixthAxis, Samuels said the company was hoping to release two titles a year in The Dark Pictures Anthology. No word yet on how those plans have changed, but there could be a little hope left to see the release schedule not change too drastically after The Dark Pictures: Little Hope.
