Earlier this week Marvel released a teaser for their upcoming Netflix series The Defenders, which will be the culmination of each of their original mini-series. The teaser featured Matt Murdoch (Daredevil), Danny Rand (Iron Fist), Luke Cage (Luke Cage) and Jessica Jones (Jessica Jones) shown riding up an elevator.

The security camera footage styled teaser displayed each character’s unique characteristics aptly. Daredevil is shown donning half of his season 1 garb, with a cloth tied around his head, while Cage is seen wearing his tattered bullet hole filled hoodie.
The teaser also shows that Iron Fist has yet to suit up in his comic book costume and that Jones will still have the same mean streak about her, as she punches out the camera to end the footage. If you pay close attention to that footages time code you can see that it ends at 08: 18: 20: 17, better known as August 18, 2017.
The Netflix press site confirmed that the show will hit the streaming service on Aug. 18 and that the shows will continue to be available for streaming in the meantime. While the thought of each show finally joining up is exciting – with small crossovers from characters like Hogarth and the Night Nurse spanning across multiple shows – the television equivalent to the Avengers seems to have been struggling as of late.
With less than favorable reviews for Iron Fist and discussions about pacing problems throughout each of the shows, is their cause for concern over The Defenders? Or will the show help solidify each character now that they have each other to play off?
