Have you ever wanted to solve real-life puzzles on a quest to save Hyrule? Consider your wishes granted because SCRAP, the developers of many award-winning escape room challenges, is partnering with Nintendo to create a Puzzle Tour inspired by The Legend of Zelda. Escape rooms, which force players to solve puzzles within a time limit, typically trap players in a room. But the “Defenders of the Triforce” U.S. tour will place teams of six in a large, The Legend of Zelda themed game space. This, of course, means the escape game will become an adventure that fans can appreciate. Players can expect to use items from The Legend of Zelda to complete the challenge. Characters from the series’ Goron, Zora, and Kokiri tribes will also make an appearance.

After the puzzle experience is over, visitors will have access to a unique promotional area. This lounge will feature exclusive photo opportunities and exclusive The Legend of Zelda merchandise. The tour will be heading to eight U.S. cities, beginning with San Francisco on January 31st. The tour will continue in Los Angeles, Phoenix, and San Diego. SCRAP has not listed dates for the Seattle, Houston, Chicago, and New York events.

Nintendo of America’s Senior Vice President of Sales, Doug Bowser, was optimistic about the collaboration, saying, “At Nintendo, we’re always looking for ways to offer new experiences for all of our fans, and expose our characters and franchises to new audiences”.

Unsurprisingly, this is not the first time Nintendo brings The Legend of Zelda into the real world. Nintendo’s celebration of the series’ 30th anniversary included a concert and a new line of holiday apparel. The upcoming release of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild also marks a milestone for the franchise. Nintendo’s decision to launch this title on the Nintendo Switch further proves its devotion to keeping The Legend of Zelda alive.

Ticket information for “The Defenders of the Triforce” tour can be found at https://scrapzelda.com/.

A fanatic of all things human, Steven spends an alarming amount of time researching untrue facts. Did you know that the Trojan horse was nicknamed “Tro-jo”? Just like you, he loves video games, movies, “the telly”, and all sorts of wacky thingamajigs. Though writing about games is his current side hustle, Steven hopes to create an impacting journalism career by turning his thoughts into words, sounds, and images.
