Fact: The Office is an entertaining, hilarious show. Fact: the show isn’t exactly suitable for kids. Another fact: there will be a children’s book made so all ages can enjoy it.

The Office: A Day at Dunder Mifflin Elementary is a new children’s book featuring all the characters as little kids. Written by Robb Pearlman and illustrated by Melanie Demmer, the book will cover Michael Scott’s experience being Line Leader for his elementary school. He doesn’t know how to lead a line, but with a little help, he can succeed.

The children’s book, as you might imagine, is for younger readers. The language will be simple, and the illustrations will be colorful and attention-grabbing. But that doesn’t mean the book won’t be entertaining for older fans of The Office. According to the publisher, Little, Brown Young Readers, the book will be “filled with fan-favorite characters and hilarious references to the acclaimed TV show.” All of these references will be age-appropriate, of course, but nonetheless entertaining for long-time fans.

The Office: A Day at Dunder Mifflin Elementary will hit shelves on October 6th for the 15th anniversary of the show. Pick it up for your kids, but really for yourself.

The Office TV Show

The Office, for those who somehow don’t know, is an NBC comedy show starring Steve Carell that concluded in 2013. It ran for nine seasons but has stayed alive due to its popularity on Netflix, where it is currently streaming. It is actually based off of the 2001 BBC comedy, also titled The Office, created by Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant. The show, despite positive reception, wasn’t as popular and therefore didn’t last as long as its American counterpart.
