The Recent Capcom Reveal Trailers Were So Hype People Started Throwing Up

Other people scream, fighting game fans gag

Capcom has been killing it with the recent reveal trailers of its classic collections during Nintendo Directs. These old video game announcements are so unbelievably exciting that people have actually started having visceral physical reactions to trailers of the returning fan-favorite games. During streams in which famous FGC content creators are watching Nintendo’s events, some have genuinely started throwing up due to sheer surprise and elation.

The two reveal trailers in question are the Marvel Vs. Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics, and Capcom Fighting Collection 2. The MvC Collection was revealed back in June, while the second Fighting Collection was revealed during last week’s Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase on August 28.

This resulted in multiple streamers losing their minds, and their stomachs, over these trailers. Ultima Shadow, a prominent streamer in the FGC was so shocked when he saw the Marvel Vs. Capcom Collection that he gasped so hard that he started gagging like a madman. He was caught completely off guard and barely made it through the whole trailer without losing his breakfast. The announcements were a complete shock both times because Capcom has really upped its anti-leak measures to ensure no information ever makes it out until it’s meant to.

Kenny, aka Unroolie, was catching up to the Nintendo Partner Showcase, and like every other fan, was only expecting more detail on the Marvel Vs. Capcom Collection, but seeing Capcom Vs. SNK 1, Capcom Vs. SNK 2, and Project Justice, out of nowhere nearly knocked him off his feet. Capcom didn’t pull any punches and delivered the final blow when the trailer revealed Power Stone and Power Stone 2, resulting in Kenny not only breaking something on his PC but also gagging and almost throwing up not unlike Ultima Shadow.

Maximilian Dood’s reaction to both collections, although gagless, was also off the hook. It left him screaming and baffled by the end. This was for both the Marvel Vs. Capcom Collection and the Capcom Fighting Collection 2. This just goes to show how much these games mean to people.

When it comes to fighting game reveals, the hype of reveals is unmatched. The legacy of reveals at the end of major fighting game tournaments like Evo is legendary when groups of thousands of people are roaring at the top of their lungs because of something that adds to what they’re already so passionate about.

The chances of these games coming back were near to none, and long-time fans had given up on the hope of ever seeing these crossovers return. But with interest still at a high, Capcom capitalized on this by making it happen and bringing Terry and Mai from Fatal Fury to Street Fighter 6. Once that happened, the floodgates to crossovers opened, and many of the biggest past crossovers like Capcom Vs. SNK 2 and Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 once again saw the light of day.

If Capcom continues this streak of unbelievably exciting reveals, we might not have any streamers left to watch in the FGC. The Marvel Vs. Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics comes out on September 12. The Capcom Fighting Collection 2 will come out in 2025. Both games will launch on the PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC, and although the trailers don’t show the Xbox logo at the end, the Japanese developer did confirm that both collections will also come on the Xbox One in 2025.
