At this time of the year, people tend to pay attention to the three big holidays: Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. With the ongoing spooky season, a Reddit post about someone who wanted to celebrate Halloween with a cake during work hours was posted. The boss didn’t react as many would expect, although the ending will surprise you.
The Reddit user copperpin shared a photo of the Halloween-themed cake for their office, which had the icing written, “Now get back to work.” In the OP’s words, this is what happened to get a cake like that:
Someone asked the boss if we were going to have cake for Halloween, he disappeared and came back with this.

From previous experiences, I think that if my boss is someone severe and focuses more on productivity, he would ignore me. Even for much less, former bosses came to scold me. On the other hand, if my boss is easygoing, he may agree to buy the cake, like in this case. Definitely, many didn’t expect the reaction of this particular boss:
This was the best way to answer that question.

This boss went straight to the point and solved the root problem. Some people would indeed expect to waste time eating so as not to work. At least the users decided to follow the humorous tone of the post.
I worked for him. He’s gotten funnier.

I am glad to know that there are still many bosses with a great sense of humor. Bosses like this one try to have a moment of fun, even at work and with their subordinates, to make the job more bearable.
This is exactly the sort of thing I would do! Haha.. except my staff would know it’s in jest and we’d have cake and laugh… Then get the f*** back to work.

Regardless, at least the Reddit worker got the Halloween cake they craved. While the boss kept his workers productive and surprised them with a little treat, perhaps more workplaces should learn from this true leader and some other tips in the comments. This way, employees and co-workers would be happier to come to work.
