Late into the evening on March 10, TikTok influencer Tophiachu and her brother and mother, infamously known as Brotherchu and Mamachu respectively, were sleeping in their car. The car is a brightly colored sedan that the family was using as a place to stay while they experienced homelessness. However, this night was different from any other because someone would attempt to carjack the car, not knowing that the family lay sound asleep inside.
In the above video, you can hear Tophia updating her followers shortly after the events. Because the video was posted to her TikTok story and has since been removed, the above is a recording of the original. She said that someone tried to steal the car and during the altercation, fatally shot her brother and wounded her mother. In the video, which is just a black screen with Tophia’s voice, she states that she jumped out of the car in a panic, and didn’t have time to turn around for her family before the carjacker drove away with them inside.
Commenters were quick to condmend those who make fun of Tophia for how she expresses herself online. Despite what she might have done or said, nobody deserves to have this done to their family.
I’ve never made fun of her because she really is living a hard and sad life. She doesn’t deserve this. I lost my sissy and I know this exact pain. Those cries are of pure agony and shock.”
Unfortunately, the vehicle was apprehended by police officers who found that Brotherchu was deceased and Mamachu left with serious injuries. The suspect was shot and killed by police after he crashed the vehicle into a Jeep, whose owner began to scream for help after realizing who was inside the other vehicle.
Tophiachu is an internet celebrity known as a lolcow, who are best described as individuals who put their lives on the internet only to be ridiculed and trolled by others who they begin to think of as fans. Over the last several years, her online presence has been met with scrutiny as she’s asked viewers for money to purchase things like food and her apartment’s rent, only to return the following day with new clothing and accessories.
Hopefully, Mamachu recovers quickly and the family is able to put Brotherchu to rest. The altercation was not targetted towards the family, and was a result of a random act of violence that could have been prevented.
