This summer he’s been seen spending time at the Paris Olympics and rubbing elbows with other A-list stars while watching singers like Taylor Swift and Bruce Springsteen perform. However, sources claim that the actor’s social life isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. Instead, he’s said to be living a very lonely life.
According to In Touch Weekly, Tom Cruise would rather be working than kicking back and having fun. The actor is reportedly working intense 16-hour days on his films. However, that’s exactly how he likes his life.
Tom Cruise Allegedly Has No Friends, Prefers Working over Socializing
“He literally has no friends who can keep pace with him,” an insider tells the outlet. “He only socializes with the moguls and other A-listers to further his movie ambitions, and it’s pretty clear when you spend any stretch of time with him that he’s a lonely guy and would rather be off shooting a mega stunt than pretending he likes his downtime.”
In addition, Cruise allegedly never takes vacations unless he has ulterior motives in mind. He’d rather be performing death-defying stunts than resting on a beach. “He will slow down and act normal only as a last resort and only when he’s a very old man, that’s my prediction,” the source added.
Meanwhile, Tom Cruise has been taking a lot of heat as of late for being an absent parent to his daughter, Suri Cruise. The teenager recently graduated from high school and moved into college, but the actor wasn’t present for the big milestones.
However, it was previously reported that the Top Gun star is paying for Suri’s college tuition at the prestigious Carnegie Mellon University. However, that hasn’t softened his image among some fans.
“Tom Cruise leaking to the press he is paying for Suri’s tuition like that makes up for the fact that he is an absent father, is insane,” one person tweeted.
“Simply throwing money at your kids does not make you a father. Least he can do after having pretty much zero involvement in her life,” another comment read.
Tom Cruise may be living a lonely lifestyle, but his career is still thriving. Since that appears to be what’s important to him, the actor may be content with his choices.
