When it comes to special ammo Legendary weapons in Destiny 2, there are quite a few to choose from. You’ve got your usual selection of Shotguns, Sniper rifles, and even Grenade Launchers or Trace Rifles, but if you don’t know which ones are the best, then you might get stuck with some pretty crappy selections in your loadout. You want to make sure you find the ones that are easy to farm, have powerful perks, and can be great in either specific situations or just all around. Finding a weapon that fits into all of those categories isn’t the simplest of tasks, but don’t worry, we’ve got you covered. Let’s take a look at the best Special Legendary weapons in Destiny 2.

10. Scatter Signal

Having a decent Fusion Rifle, like Scatter Signal is a great idea for any PvE play styles in your Kinetic weapon slot. Its charge time isn’t too high, making it pretty easy to weapon-swap for maximum DPS, and it can deal some serious damage to bosses and provide excellent ad-clear. However, when it comes to PvP, Scatter Signal isn’t the perfect choice by far, but it can still deal solid damage. With some decent perks, like Perpetual Motion or Encore, along with Over-Under or Adagio, you can get pretty decent increases on already great stacks, along with the option for additional damage. You can get Scatter Signal through Season of the Wish activities, and it’s craftable.

9. Appetence

Appetence

The Appetence Stasis Trace Rifle is a great option for your Kinetic weapon slot in both PvP and PvE play styles. Being that Appetence was one of the first Legendary Kinetic Trace Rifles within Destiny 2, it was destined to have quite an effect on the way that we play. Appetence has some pretty impressive perks available in combinations that can make it entirely broken, like Overflow, which reduces your need to reload, and Killing Tally, which causes your weapons damage to increase with each will until the weapon is stowed or reloaded. That said, if you can put off reloading with Overflow, you can rack up some serious damage buffs. Additionally, Appetence is obtainable through seasonal activities and can be crafted.

8. Ignition Code

Ignition Code

Ignition Code is one of Destiny 2’s Kinetic slot Grenade Launchers and a pretty dang-good one, if I might add. Ignition Code features Slideshot, a perk that allows you to reload the weapon partially while sliding with a temporary book to both Range and Stability. When paired with the Frenzy perk, which allows you to increase Damage, Handling, and Reload Speed for the duration in which you are in combat, Slideshot makes Ignition code dang near invincible. It’s great for PvP, it’s great for PvE, it’s even great for PvPvE if you like Gambit. I definitely wouldn’t sleep on this weapon if I were you.

7. The Supremacy

The supremacy

The Supremacy is one of the few Kinetic slot Sniper Rifles in Destiny 2, and it definitely doesn’t disappoint. It’s a great all around weapon for dealing heavy damage, multi-role, or even in PvP scenarios. Given that The Supremacy has a Rapid Fire Frame intrinsic as well, it has a faster reload time and is more useful in various areas of the game, rather than for very specific activities. Combe Rewind Round and Fourth Time’s the Charm, which deals some really wild DPS, and Supremacy can hardly be beaten. You can get this Sniper Rifle by completing the Last Wish Raid.

6. Wastelander M5

I obviously couldn’t finish off this list without a good Kinetic slot Shotgun. The Wastelander M5 is a fantastic Shotgun, one that some people would even argue is the best one in the game. It’s got some incredible hip-fire, it’s pretty easy to farm, and it does great in both PvE and PvP. For PvE, you can pair up Subsistence and Trench Barrel to reduce reloading and maximizing damage after melee interactions. For PvP, Slideshot and Opening Shot are the way to go to increase accuracy and range and reduce reloading time. You can get Wastelander by completing Dares of Eternity or within Xur’s Treasure Hoard.

5. Mountaintop

Now, the Mountaintop Grenade Launcher might have been a god among Guardians in its earlier days when it was taken into a Crucible match. While that might not be exactly the case now, it’s still pretty relevant. The Mountaintop recently came back with the Into the Light update through the BRAVE arsenal, and it’s still dealing some impressive damage numbers in PvP, PvE, and anything in between. Getting your hands on Mountaintop is literally never a bad idea. Getting Mountaintop now is easier than it ever was before. You can get it through the Hall of Champions and as a possible drop from the Onslaught activity.

4. Tusk of the Boar

Tusk of the Boar

Tusk of the Boar is a relatively new weapon in Destiny 2, and it’s only available as a drop from Iron Banner activities. Tusk of the Boar is a Wave Frame Strand Grenade Launcher, and it’s an incredible weapon for hitting multiple targets at once. If you need to do some ad-clear, Tusk of the Boar is perfect for the job. However, when it comes to PvP, if you get lucky enough to get a decent roll, Tusk is pretty great, but it’s much more useful in PvE play styles. Getting your hands on Tusk of the Boar can be pretty tricky since it is only available as a drop from Iron Banner. You’ll need to time your farming perfectly so that it aligns with the weeks that Iron Banner is active.

3. Matador 64

Matador 64

The Matador 64 Shotgun is pretty impressive, and if you’ve spent any time in Crucible matches, I’m sure you know all about how effective it can be. Matador 64 is an Arc Shotgun with a Precision Frame intrinsic that can deal some impressive damage and even has a pretty decent perk pool. Matador is all right when it comes to PvE gameplay, but it becomes really effective in PvP. You can get Matador 64 by completing the first encounter within the Grasp of Avarice Dungeon. The chance of it dropping is quite high too, so it’s relatively farmable.

2. Mercurial Overreach

Mercurial Overreach

Mercurial Overreach was a pretty popular Arc Sniper Rifle when it dropped back in Season 21, and for a good reason. This sniper rifle actually has some really impressive stats, and it can be just about as useful in PvP as Cloudstrike can. If you’ve spent any time in Trials of Osiris, then you know exactly how back Cloudstrike can hurt. As far as Adaptive Frame Sniper Rifles go, you literally won’t find higher stats. However, getting it can be pretty irritating if you don’t enjoy PvP all that much. You can only get Mercurial Overreach through Shaxx’s Competitive Playlist.

1. Defiance of Yasmin

Defiance of Yasmin

The Defiance of Yasmin Sniper Rifle has quite a bit going for it, and it can even be crafted, so farming for god rolls doesn’t have to be a thing, which is always positive and time-saving. Despite Sniper Rifles not being the best in PvE, the perks available on Defiance of Yasmin make that seem quite the opposite in this case, and when it comes to PvP, it’s pretty much unstoppable. To get Defiance of Yasmin, you’ll need to participate in the King’s Fall Raid, where the Sniper Rifle will drop from Oryx, Daughter, and Warpriest, or you can spend 20 Spoils of Conquest to get it from the vendor at the end of the Raid.
