Synergy abilities are attacks you can perform with other party members in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. You can earn these by saving up your SP points and spending them on the right Folios. You can gain even more Synergy Abilities to buy by raising the level of your party. Fighting through the story can help you achieve this, but I definitely recommend going around each region and earning as many levels as you possibly can so that you can get even more powerful Synergy Abilities.

10. Mega Moogle Mash

The Mega Moogle Mash is one of the more comical abilities you can use. It can only be obtained by Cait Sith to be used with Aerith. During this attack, Aerith embiggens Cait’s moogle and throws it at the enemy. The moogle then beats the enemy down before finally exploding. Best of all, it has effects against staggered foes. You will have an Attack Power Boost as well as a Staggered Time Extension.

9. Savage Assault

You can obtain Savage Assault from Red XIII’s Folios. It makes both him and Cloud team up to channel their collective anger into a mighty blow shared between the two. Not only do you get a chance to see the two working together, but it also increases their Limit Level. I can firmly state that this is one of the abilities that I only use so that I can get the best screenshots of two of my favorite characters in action.

8. Relentless Rush

Relentless Rush can be unlocked by Cloud to be used with Tifa. Cloud launches Tifa toward the enemy while also landing some powerful blade slices of his own. Not only is the animation cool, but the attack also has an effect on staggered foes. You can enjoy an Attack Power Boost and a Staggered Time Extension when you land this ability.

7. Divine Punishment

Divine Punishment requires you to have both Aerith and Tifa in your party. Unlike most other abilities that involve Aerith, this one doesn’t include healing. Instead, you’re teaming up with Tifa to deal a ton of Aerith’s magic power across a wide area. This ability also increases your Limit Level for that battle. To obtain this Synergy Ability, you need to unlock it from Aerith’s Folios.

6. Halycon Descent

Halcyon Descent only requires you to have Yuffie in your party. This ability makes use of Yuffie’s ninja powers and Cloud’s fearlessness. It also has an effect on staggered foes. You can expect to have an Attach Power Boost as well as a Stagger Time Extension. You can earn this in Yuffie’s Folios.

5. United Refocus

You can get this ability in just about everyone’s Folios. Each party member is able to use it with a different party member, so be careful of who you have in your party. I absolutely loved using this ability because it granted an extra gauge in the ATB gauge. It’s only temporary, but it makes a huge difference if you have good Materia attached to your weapons and equipment. Sometimes, you can use it twice, and it really makes a world of difference in hard boss battles.

4. Avalanche Two-Step

The Avalanche Two-Step pays homage to the party members who are a part of Avalanche, Tifa and Barret. Considering that, the two need to be in your party in order for you to use it. As opposed to most of the picks on this list, instead of raising the Limit Level of the battle, you’ll have more effects on staggered foes. The party gets an Attack Power Boost as well as Staggered Time Extension. I absolutely loved using this against staggered enemies. You can only unlock this ability by Barret.

3. Mayhem-Go-Round

This one is here because it has powerful attack power and a really fun animation. You must have both Barret and Cait Sith in your party to execute it. It consists of Barret jumping atop Cait’s Moogle while it spins around. Barret’s cannon and the Moogle’s mouth laser spin around in a carousel-like fashion, blasting everything in their way. It also increases your Level Limit whenever you use it. This particular ability can only be acquired by Cait Sith.

2. Hack and Slash

My party normally consists of Cloud, Yuffie, and Red XIII. Considering this, I try to make use of ensuring that my party has abilities that they can use with one another. This ability teams up the latter two to attack in one big burst. In the animation, there’s a really cool moment where Yuffie sits atop Red. The attack also increases the Limit Level for that particular battle. You can obtain this Synergy Ability in Red XIII’s Folio.

1. Maelstrom Strike

Again, I personally really enjoy having Yuffie in my party, despite how annoying I find her to be. This ability allows both Yuffie and Cloud to attack enemies from all around. It also increases the Limit Level within that battle. Of all the animations that show up when you perform these moves, this one is by far my favorite as well. To get it, you can find it in Cloud’s Folio.
