This article is over 1 years old and may contain outdated information.

There are loads of expansions for The Sims 4, but what are the best ones? With over 70 DLCs for the game overall, there are plenty of options to choose from when it comes to expansion packs. You could check out Cottage Living and experience new animal life in The Sims 4, or even Get Famous and live a life of fame. However, choosing the right one for you can take time and effort with the many options available. Let’s take a look at the 10 best expansions that we’ve found for The Sims 4.

10. The Sims 4: High School Years

The High School Years expansion for The Sims 4 adds some much-needed differences between Adult and Teenager Sims. Before High School Years were released, there really wasn’t much difference, aside from the fact that teenagers would be gone half of the day in school and wouldn’t be able to work a full-time job. However, now you’ll see the difference clearly with all the new activities available for your high school-aged Sims.

9. Snowy Escape

Snowy Escape is an expansion with a more unique style, inspired by Japanese buildings and featuring tall mountains and, you guessed it, loads of snow. Snowy Escape introduces new activities for your Sim to enjoy, each of which includes the snow. You’ll be able to ski, snowboard, climb rocks, and much more. Don’t forget to relax those muscles in the hot springs once you’re done chilling outside.

8. The Sims 4: Get Together

The Sims 4‘s Get Together Expansion was one of the best for obvious reasons. Not only did it add several new options for interactions with other Sims, but it also added Windenburg, a new area that has loads of lots to play with, Nightclubs, working DJ booths, and even coffee shops. However, the best part involves creating interest clubs that allow you to play with loads of settings and open up a new avenue for interaction with other Sims.

7. Horse Ranch

Horse Ranch is one of the more fun expansion packs that I’ve played, but it certainly has its flaws as well. Some of the previous expansions definitely missed out by not including horses that you could train and ride, but Horse Ranch surely picked up the slack where they were lacking. However, if the expansion had more to do with life on a ranch, it would have been much higher on this list.

6. The Sims 4: Cottage Living

The Cottage Living Expansion is a great one for those who are tired of the traffic and noise of the big city. It perfectly captures the serene and relaxed vibes that living in a cottage off the grid can offer. With new challenges and places to explore, you really can’t go wrong with Cottage Living. You can visit the local market, raise farm animals, hang out at the fair, and even befriend wildlife.

The Get to Work expansions for The Sims 4 is one of the best ones out there. We’re all used to the same old occupations and professions within the game, so it’s nice to be able to switch it up once in a while. This expansion offers new jobs, including Doctor, Detective, and Scientist. You will also be able to create your own businesses and learn new skills!

4. The Sims 4: Discover University

Since the one surefire way to keep your Sim alive and thriving is to have a job that pays well, it’s no surprise that Discover University is one of the best expansion packs for The Sims 4. Discover University allows you to participate in higher education by heading to college to learn new life skills. You can study hard, party harder, and earn college degrees!

The Seasons expansion for The Sims 4 adds more realism to the Sim world. Not only will you get access to all four seasons and be able to dress for each of them with new clothing, but you will also be able to experience new holidays! Seasons bring Winterfest, New Skills Day, and Love Day into the game which introduces massive changes to the way you play. You will also be able to gain new rewards, get new jobs, and even traits and aspirations.

The Sims 4 Get Famous is one of the best expansion packs for a huge reason! Everybody wants to be famous. With the Get Famous expansion, that dream can become a Sim reality. Your in-game phone will become a crucial tool in allowing you to build up to fame and fortune through all your social interactions within the game. The Get Famous expansion brings a new world to the game and new careers and clothing options.

Jordan is an experienced fantasy writer who spends hours behind her laptop, and lost in the pages of a book. She strives to be a successful gaming blogger, and has no complaint about the hours of game time she used to increase her knowledge of all things “geek”. She primarily writes gaming articles and fantasy novels. Ark: Survival Evolved is a favorite, along with Diablo 3, Warframe and Minecraft lately, though you can’t forget the good old Magic the Gathering card game! Writing about games truly gives her joy as it gives her another perspective to look at games from, a reason to really look into the mechanics of the game.
