Remnant 2 has no shortage of bosses. Enemies, Aberrations, and normal bosses pose a threat, but the greatest danger in the game comes from World Bosses. Though fewer in number, each of these colossal baddies plays a key role in the story. Unsurprisingly, they’re also some of the most difficult foes to take down, even with a partner. Players who manage to kill them will be rewarded with unique loot they can’t acquire in any other way. Besides, if you want to beat the game, they all have to die eventually. Here’s how each of the game’s World Bosses measures up.

8: Labyrinth Sentinel

Though the Labyrinth Sentinel bears the title of World Boss, it functions as a puzzle more than anything else. Upon entering its arena, players face a compact maze full of gigantic, 6-sided blocks. Some of these blocks roll about and attempt to crush the player, while others launch energy attacks from above. The player must destroy the glowing weak points on each cube. Doing so damages the Labyrinth Sentinel and also provides the player craters to shelter in as the boss attempts to crush them. The Sentinel gets points for originality, but after memorizing its movements, there’s no actual challenge here.

7: Faelin / Faerin

Faelin and Faerin primarily differ in the aesthetics of their bodies, arenas, and attacks. When it comes to battle, the two are functionally identical. Unfortunately, both versions of the Imposter King lack a dynamic enough set of attacks to pose a true threat. Losomn’s twin World Bosses alternate between orb projectiles and dashing melee attacks. When beaten down to 50% health, Faelin and Faerin animate the gigantic swords located around the arena to strike at the player. At 25% health, they add new orb and sword attacks, but as long as the player is paying attention, neither poses much threat. Without more variety, they’re two of the weaker World Bosses in Remnant 2.

6: Corrupted Ravager

One of the game’s more merciful World Bosses, the Corrupted Ravager will fall swiftly if the player knows what to do. Most of the boss’s attacks consist of close-range lunges and slashes. Better yet, the Corrupted Ravager spends a fair portion of the fight slowly walking toward the player to get into position. This leaves it open to lay down a ton of damage, even if the player wields a relatively slow weapon. The player also benefits from having a large, wide-open arena to maneuver in. Of course, it only takes one slip-up for the boss to bring the pain.

5: Corruptor

The Corruptor spawns a guardian to aid it, and while killing the guardian is optional, players ignore it at their own expense. The fight occurs atop aerial platforms, so the player can die by falling off, forcing them to watch their footing. The guardian respawns after it is slain, and if the player isn’t mindful of its new position, sneak attacks from behind are possible. During the Corruptor’s second phase, the boss shoots giant laser beams that encompass an entire platform. If the player doesn’t jump to safety, they will die.

4:Tal Ratha / Tal Ratha (Metaphysical)

Tal Ratha spits, claws, bites, and even vacuums the player in closer in order to chomp on them. Triumphing requires quick reflexes and one finger glued to the dodge button, especially during some of the World Boss’s nastier projectile attacks. Though Tal Ratha looks slow and moves awkwardly, several of the boss’s attacks are deceptively fast. These can easily catch the player unaware, especially if they’re still getting used to his numerous abilities. As if that weren’t enough, Tal Ratha (Metaphysical) can also teleport across the battlefield before spamming dashes and AOE attacks. All this makes the boss one of Remnant 2’s most ferocious enemies.

3: The Nightweaver

The Nightweaver is a nightmarish opponent, and not just because she’s the former goddess of dreams. The Nightweaver battle takes place in two phases: the first in the Asylum’s courtyard, the second in the Asylum itself. Phase 1 features projectiles, summoned minions, dash attacks, and ground slams, all in a cramped courtyard. The real challenge comes from the speed at which she attacks. Without quick reflexes and precise timing, the player will die fast. Phase 2 is simpler but features some cheeky sneak attacks, and coming on the heels of the first fight, it’s brutal.

2: Sha’Hala: Spectral Guardian of N’Erud

Sha’Hala: Spectral Guardian of N’Erud sports a variety of projectile attacks that can ravage even the wariest players. Timing dodges of various beams and zigzagging lightning isn’t easy, and only takes a few hits to devour the player’s entire health bar. Though the arena gives the player enough room to move, the boss summons darkness throughout the fight, making navigating it difficult. Sha’Hala is arguably one of the most fun fights in Remnant 2, but that doesn’t mean this World Boss will go down easily.

1: Annihilation

It’s always disappointing when the final boss of the main story is a pushover. Thanks to Gunfire Games, that’s not a concern. Annihilation is happy to live up to its name, annihilating players with a variety of attacks. The move set and their timing are lethal, and to make matters worse, both phases of the fight can be visually overwhelming. Like the Nightweaver, Annihilation completely replenishes its health between phases, so players are in for a grueling battle unless they have extremely high DPS. The second phase’s reputation for punishing players is deserved as well, making this a legendary fight.
