Tribes of Midgard is debuting its first foray into the sea voyaging side of Viking legend, introducing all sorts of sea-related additions with the newest update. From swimming, boats, new enemies, and a brand new Saga Boss, you’re sure to have plenty to look forward to when venturing into the new Open Seas biome. Seeing as you can’t realistically swim to the islands present as part of the latest update though, you’re going to need a boat for you and your potential crew. If you’re unsure of how to do that (or how to place it), then we’re here to help. Here’s how you can get a boat and explore the major sea biome in Tribes of Midgard!

How to Get a Boat in Tribes of Midgard

Tribes of Midgard Season 2: Serpent Saga Sailing

To get a boat in Tribes of Midgard, you must construct a Shipyard. We have a handy guide on everything you need to know regarding that, but to give the short version, you’ll need to find an Ash Beach constructible building. There’s only one on the map, so keep checking nearby beaches until you find one. From there, input the necessary supplies, and your Shipyard will be constructed. Head into its menu and you’ll be met with three different boat choices. These do have some slight stat boosts but are mainly selected for the amount of players you have with you. If you’re running this expedition solo, you’ll want to create the first, small raft. Should you have 2-4 players (that includes yourself), you’ll want the second option. Anything more than that, and the final boat option will be the one to go for.

Once you’ve used the needed supplies to craft your boat, head over to the body of water you want to deploy your boat at and open your Construction menu. From here, scroll over to your boat and place it in the water. You’ll then be able to get in it and control its speed (through several sail lengths) and direction. Just make sure to avoid enemies, or you’ll be quite literally dead in the water. Either way, you now know how to get a boat in Tribes of Midgard!
