Ellen DeGeneres wasn’t kidding when she and her wife, Portia de Rossi, threatened to leave the United States if Donald Trump was elected President. But even after relocating to the United Kingdom, things are not going well for her. Given the way things are going, the former talk show host may be looking to move again soon.
Once Donald Trump was officially elected, Ellen kept good to her word and left the country for the U.K. In the past, the female comedian developed a reputation for being difficult to get along with. So, not many were sad to see her go.
However, it looks as if her reputation followed her across the pond. However, according to Radar Online reports, Ellen DeGeneres “faces being run out of the United Kingdom” by her new British neighbors who “hate” her.
The only problem is that Ellen and Portia are potentially left with the grueling job of finding another country to call home. One DeGeneres source states, “Ellen needed to escape. They went to England with the dream of getting away from the drama. But that hasn’t been the case. It’s been one nightmare after another since they moved, and only sheer stubbornness keeps them from running back to America.”
Ellen DeGeneres’ Nasty Attitude Doesn’t Do Her Any Favors
British sources allegedly claim that Ellen and Portia have been stirring up trouble since they arrived. Following their relocation to the Cotswolds region, DeGeneres and de Rossi purchased a $18 million mansion and a huge farm.
However, the couple wanted to make some major renovations to their mansion. However, one insider reveals that they failed to get the proper licenses and permissions required to build an extension to the home.
“Ellen has this attitude that the rules don’t apply to her, and it’s making her life difficult.” Now, there is a huge disagreement going on between the locals and the West Oxfordshire District Council.
The council claims that Ellen DeGeneres’ renovations were “completed to a high standard.” But locals strongly disagree. The community is reportedly furious, and Ellen is allegedly not backing down, and it is complete chaos.
It also seems that Portia de Rossi and Ellen DeGeneres have experienced a large run of bad luck since moving there. Between the flooding issues and the battles with the neighbors, it has not been the peaceful homestead they hoped for.
“Everyone knows they’re miserable, although they’re still trying to make a go of it. They’ve spent tons of money on this move. But they’re too bullheaded to go back to the U.S,” the insider adds.
The United Kingdom’s powers that be are growing tired of dealing with them. If it were up to them, the couple would’ve been booted months ago. Word is they are tired of the drama and are desperate to return to steady life. They just need to figure out a way to get there.
