Verdansk Alone Will Not Save Warzone By A Long Shot

Warzone needs more than that

  • Simply, Yes, But For How Long?
  • Verdansk Could Be Call of Duty: Warzone’s Last Call

Call of Duty: Warzone is in a stale situation right now, soaked in bugs that won’t even allow the players to access their clan tag without getting kicked out of the game. That alone could become the reason why some players are leaving this game, while the news about the return of Verdansk has got almost everyone hyped for a massive comeback that the developers are cooking. Or that’s what we fans believe at least. But, is Verdansk and its big update enough to save Warzone?

There are two things about the return of Verdansk: 1. The iconic map’s return, of course. 2. The update it’s packed with. I’m not emphasizing the big size of the file that we’re pushed to download to play the game now, that’s another story, but rather how the deployment of the map is going to operate.

So the best guess is, that the map returns, and many players jump back into the lobbies to relieve their memories in good old Verdansk. But, are they going to suffer the same issues we had in Warzone Season 2 Reloaded update where I myself couldn’t even access the game’s main menu thanks to bugs? That’s where the update itself comes into play to fix the issues and deliver a clean season.

Warzone’s Current Issues Have Nothing To Do With The Maps

For Call of Duty: Warzone to stand tall among the other competitors like Fortnite, the map is its least issue right now. Urzikestan isn’t the golden star, that’s for sure, but what is the point of having the best of the best in Warzone while the game is broken?

So while Verdansk gives Warzone a significant boost at the start, it’s up to the developers and Activision to save it. Those who come back for another shot at this game will need to have a good reason to stay other than an OG map that isn’t going to play like it used to be.

With Call of Duty: Black Ops 6‘s Omnimovement, things are faster now, and it only remains to be seen whether it suits Verdansk or ruins the experience for players. Honestly, I think it’s going on the positive side. Verdansk is a huge Warzone map with 150 players and a faster speed can definitely help increase the engagements, but that’s only my opinion.

According to recent leaks, the previously planned Warzone map “Avalon” is pushed back down the line for a later release, meaning that the developers are only focusing on Verdansk right now. So it could be that they’re putting everything on the line for this update, probably releasing a ton of features and smaller updates to improve the game. But that could mean only one thing: This is the last call for Warzone.

The OG and new Warzone players all meet in Verdansk and there’s a big chance to keep them all in the game for as long as possible. If this opportunity goes sideways, however, I don’t know what will bring back the ones that have thrown Warzone out the window for a long time by now.

Amir is an absolute Call of Duty nerd, preferring shooter games more than everything. However, he does like to do uppercuts in Mortal Kombat and feel the NOS going through the engines in Need For Speed games.
