It’s yet another week, which means it’s time for more games to stroll onto the Epic Games Store free offerings. These new titles replace Rebel Galaxy, a space adventure game where you can build and play out your own story. If you had the chance to pick it up, I suggest playing through it. It’s a ton of fun! With that being said though, this week looks to bring out some middle-market games that have received a heap of praise. This week only, you can pick up both Void Bastards and Yooka-Laylee for free from the Epic Games Store! These will be followed next week by the restaurant automation game Automachef (a personal favorite of mine).

Yooka-Laylee Epic Games Store

With the first Epic Games Store title, Void Bastards offers up a unique roguelike with graphics any Borderlands fan will be immediately drawn to. Void Bastards sees a rag-tag group of survivors, with a group name replicating the title’s name, attempt to survive as they scavenge various derelict vessels. Scavenging these ships is no easy task, as hostile survivors and defense systems want to ensure intruders are dispatched quickly. Only survivors with the greatest skill and strategy will be able to leave a scavenging mission alive. The only question is, is that survivor you?

And for our second free Epic Games Store title, Yooka-Laylee looks to bring a little bit of 3D platforming to those that want to kill a weekend. The description for the game reads as follows:

Explore huge, beautiful worlds, meet (and beat) an unforgettable cast of characters and horde a vault-load of shiny collectibles as buddy-duo Yooka (the green one) and Laylee (the wisecracking bat with the big nose) embark on an epic adventure to thwart corporate creep Capital B and his devious scheme to absorb all the world’s books… and convert them into pure profit!”

So which of these titles will you be trying first? Are you interested in next week’s free game? Let me know in the comments below!
