Critical Role has once again teamed up with Dark Horse Comics to bring a new installment in the Vox Machina Origins series to fans. It has been over three years since Origins III, with fans eager to continue the pre-stream adventures of the Dungeons & Dragons group. Now, Critical Role: Vox Machina Origins IV takes readers back to the world of Exandria to catch up with the “unlikely heroes.” Jody Houser teams up with Matthew Mercer and the rest of the cast of Critical Role to write this new series. Meanwhile, artist Noah Hayes helps bring the story to life in the six-part series.

Vox Machina Origins IV brings another adventure that took place before the campaign was live-streamed. This time around, the adventurers are given the task of investigating Sir Fince’s whereabouts after his sudden disappearance. The heroes eventually uncover a mysterious basement in a shady mansion. What sinister and dark surprises could possibly be lurking in wait below?

Jody Houser is excited to delve back into the world of Exandria. The writer is eager to continue the adventures alongside Vox Machina. However, this time around, the stakes are higher, and the series will see if splitting the party is ever a good idea. To stick true to the story, Dark Horse is consulting with Matthew Mercer and the rest of the cast. This includes Laura Bailey, Travis Willingham, Sam Riegel, Liam O’Brien, Marisha Ray, Taliesin Jaffe, and Ashley Johnson.

An Animated Vox Machina And More

Elsewhere in the world of Vox Machina is the animated series. This year will likely see the third season of The Legend of Vox Machina animated series. This animated show, streaming on Amazon Prime, tells early adventures of the group as well. However, it also brings on-stream adventures to life. Plus, an animated version of the second Critical Role campaign, The Mighty Nein, is in the works as well.

Critical Role: Vox Machina Origins IV #1 is on sale now.
