With the arrival of Warframe Update 35 or Whisper in the Walls, the developers have given players a new toy. Among those would be Qorvex, a nuclear-reactor-themed Warframe with crude concrete armor to boot. It’s a tanky unit that focuses on crowd control. If you want to make the most of the new Warframe, we’ve laid out an ideal Warframe Qorvex build below. Do note that this build is still considered a work in progress and is subject to change and other improvements. However, we’ve already done the testing, and this build can withstand Steel Path missions and even trade blows with Steel Path Acolytes.

Of course, we’re starting things off with the most important customization and build process for Warframe, mods! For our Qorvex build, you can opt for either Shield-gating or Adaptation. Both build variants can withstand Steel Path missions. Still, we recommend the Shield-gating variant since it can last longer and at higher levels (though it is more complicated to operate).

For the best Warframe Qorvex build, use the following mods below:

  • Brief Respite (Aura Mod) – You can replace this with anything you want if you don’t want to Shield-gate but expect to get one-shot often past level 200 in Steel Path.
  • Power Drift (Exilus Mod) – No downsides; more Ability Strength, and protection to Knockdowns.
  • Fleeting Expertise – Expect to spam your abilities a lot in order to crowd control and if you’re Shield-gating. So Efficiency helps a lot.
  • Transient Fortitude – Even more Ability Strength.
  • Catalyzing Shields – Almost mandatory for Shield-gating (to avoid getting one-shot by taking advantage of shield damage cancelation upon depletion). You can replace this one with Adaptation if you’re not Shield-gating (it’s still Steel Path viable).
  • Primed Continuity – To counteract Fleeting Expertise and Transient Fortitude.
  • Intensify/Umbral Intensify – More Ability Strength depending on your mod capacity.
  • Augur Reach – More Ability Range for Chyrinka Pillar.
  • Stretch – Again, more Ability Range.
  • Equilibrium – Provides more Energy so you can spam more abilities for Shield-gating. If you’re not Shield-gating, then feel free to replace this with an armor mod or Augur Secrets.

As you might have expected, these mods are costly on mod capacity, and you will need to apply Forma on your Qorvex. Expect to spend around four or five Forma for this Qorvex build, which means leveling Qorvex up five to six times.

However, the end result is worth it, and you’ll find yourself with a fun, tanky Warframe whose abilities synergize well together. If you are looking to Subsume an Ability, you can opt to replace either Containment Wall or Disometric Guard with your pick of other subsumable Warframe abilities.

Arcanes for the Qorvex Build

You have plenty of choices for Arcanes here, depending on whether you choose Shield-gating as a survival method or the good old Adaptation.

If you’re Shield-gating, consider these following Arcanes:

  • Molt Efficiency – More Ability Duration.
  • Molt Augmented – More Ability Strength.

If you’re using Adaptation instead of Shield-gating, the following Arcanes are more ideal:

  • Arcane Grace – Regeneration when hit.
  • Arcane Guardian – Armor when hit.

The Adaptation option Arcanes are somewhat more expensive, so keep that in mind.

Archon Shards for the Qorvex Build

For your Archon Shards, you can just pump up your brute force factor and utility by picking these:

  • Crimson Archon Shard – Ability Strength
  • Amber Archon Shard – Casting Speed
  • Azure Archon Shard – Armor (if not Shield-gating)

Tauforged is preferable, of course, but just use what you have in the meantime.

Qorvex Build Playstyle

For this Warframe Qorvex build, it’s simple enough to pilot unless you’re Shield-gating. The playstyle merely involves:

  1. Cast the 1st Ability (Chyrinka Pillar) in order to rain Radiation on enemies.
  2. Then use the 4th Ability (Crucible Blast) to make every Radiation-afflicted enemy explode in a chain reaction.
  3. Rinse and repeat.

You can cast the 3rd Ability (Disometric Guard) once and usually forget about it, and then, from time to time, cast the 2nd Ability (Containment Wall) for on-demand Radiation. For tough enemies like Eximus units or Acolytes, you’ll need to use your weapons.

Now, if you’re Shield-gating, you will have to be mindful of Toxin damage since that goes through Shields. Otherwise, you can just keep spamming your abilities in order to recharge your Shields, which is where Qorvex’s 2nd and 4th Abilities come in handy. All that’s left is to bury your enemies in radioactive rubble.
