Warstride Challenges, a fast-paced FPS that seeks to challenge player agility and quick thinking, will debut in Steam Early Access next week on April 19. The news was officially announced through a new release date trailer showcasing some of the gameplay you can expect. You can find the trailer below!

While the trailer itself is short, it gives some solid glimpses into what to expect from the early access release. For the otherwise unaware, Warstride Challenges has players jump, slide, and dodge through a series of challenges while trying to score the fastest time possible. This could be through a particular jump you weren’t aware of, a faster way to take on your foes, or perhaps even a section of the level you didn’t even know about. At its core, this game is about trying to be the best speedrunner you can be, and the trailer further enforces that. Featuring all sorts of new enemies and moving platforms, you’ll need to be careful which tools in your movement and offensive arsenal you make use of. One new use could completely change your completion time.

The three developers behind the Warstride Challenges development studio, Dream Powered Games, had this to say regarding today’s Steam Early Access announcement and their partnership with Focus Entertainment:

We are really happy about the partnership with Focus for the development of Warstride Challenges. Their expertise will help the project reach players from all over the world, and it is with great pleasure that we are working together, hand in hand, to create an unforgettable experience for all fast-paced FPS fans. Focus is a partner who is not scared of putting gameplay at the center of their games and this is exactly what we were looking for!”

While you can’t get your hands on this fast-paced speedrunning spectacle until next week, be sure to head over to either the Warstride Challenges Discord server or the official Twitter account to express your excitement. As someone who loved the game’s demo, I’ll be right there with you.
