Unexpected Feud Ignites Between Katy Perry and Wendy’s
No, you didn’t read that wrong. The fast food chain is among those who have shared choice words about the Blue Origin space mission. After the all-female flight crew returned to Earth, Wendy’s raised eyebrows by shading Katy Perry in a series of posts on X. The most brutal one involved Pop Crave. After the celebrity update account announced that the singer had successfully returned from space, Wendy’s wrote, “Can we send her back.”
Fans were shocked over seeing such a huge brand shade a celebrity. “I smell drama,” one person reacted. “Omg that was bold,” another said. “LMFAOOO,” read another comment.
While many people were enjoying seeing the drama between Katy Pery and Wendy’s unfold online, others didn’t think it was funny. Several users criticized the fast food chain for being unprofessional. “This kinda rude,” someone wrote. “Hey so this is weird,” another said. One person even dissed Wendy’s by saying they’ve “got beef with everyone but their burgers.”
The Fast Food Chain Appears to Mock the Blue Origin Space Mission
That wasn’t the only shady post from the brand. Wendy’s also appeared to have mocked the length of Katy Perry’s space mission. After someone had mentioned that the singer had been in space for just 10 minutes, the restaurant joked, “Don’t short change her it was 11 minutes.”
Their post came amid people making fun of Perry for having such a “dramatic” reaction to returning to Earth. Since her voyage to space was so much shorter than fans expected it to be, the image of her kissing the ground after her flight became a meme. Wendy’s reacted to the viral photo by referencing Perry’s 2008 single, “I Kissed A Girl.” The account captioned the moment, “I kissed the ground and I liked it.”
The Singer Was Part of An All-Female Flight Crew
Katy Perry was just one of the trailblazing women who took part in the Blue Origin space mission. The flight, which took place on Monday, April 14, had six members. Apart from Perry, the crew included journalist Gayle King, philanthropist Lauren Sánchez, former NASA rocket scientist Aisha Bowe, research scientist Amanda Nguyen, and film producer Kerianne Flynn.
After returning to Earth, Perry was greeted by her daughter, Daisy Dove, whom she shares with actor Orlando Bloom. The 4-year-old watched in awe as the capsule carrying her mother gradually descended from the sky. As if that wasn’t cute enough, Daisy showed support for Perry by wearing her very own astronaut costume.
Although not everybody was a fan of the mission, it’s clear Perry had one very special person in her corner.
