While millions of players are waiting for the release of Starfield, platform game fans couldn’t miss the continuation of the unique dark adventure of Blasphemous 2. Events in the world herald the rebirth of The Miracle, and the Penitent must stop it. Like the first game in the series, you’ll get a lot of weapons, but this time, you’ll get as many as three starting weapons to choose from. Of course, you can get all three as you progress through the game, but the starting choice will determine the difficulty of the first few hours of gameplay. So we are here to help you and tell you about the best-starting weapon in Blasphemous 2.

Blasphemous 2: Best Starting Weapon

While every weapon has strengths and weaknesses, the Veredicto is the best choice when starting an adventure in Blasphemous 2. A giant flail with great range and damage is an excellent choice at the start of the game. The starting enemies are relatively weak and slow. So you can destroy whole groups of such opponents. Additionally, R1/RB activates the fire version of this weapon, allowing you to increase your damage.

Although this weapon has low speed and you can’t use it to parry, it’s easy to dodge enemy attacks at the start of the game. You only need to move a little, and you can destroy even enemies that are superior in strength to you. And by the time you need a more flexible strategy, you’ll have unlocked more weapons.

As for the other starting weapon, the Ruego Al Alba is the best alternative to the Veredicto. This weapon allows you to parry most enemy attacks and constantly counterattack. In addition, by attacking from the air, you hit almost any starting enemy without risking your health. However, it’s still not as good as Veredicto.

Finally, it is worth mentioning Sarmiento & Centella weapon, the worst choice at the start. High speed and the parry certainly look attractive. But the low damage doesn’t allow you to deal enough damage between enemy attacks. This way, each battle will be artificially protracted, making the beginning of the adventure seem more boring. In addition, you risk losing more health.

Blasphemous 2: All Starting Weapon Abilities

However, despite all the strengths and weaknesses of the starting weapon, each has abilities that will help you get into definite game locations. Thus, the choice of starting weapons also determines which locations you can visit at the beginning of the path and which ones you must return to later. Guided by this criterion, there is no single correct solution, and it all depends on your preferences. So here are all the starting weapon abilities in Blasphemous 2:

  • Veredicto. Using this weapon, you can interact with ornate bells to materialize previously invisible platforms.
  • Ruego Al Alba. This weapon allows you to go to locations hidden behind walls of flesh.
  • Sarmiento & Centella. Using this weapon, you can hit mirrors to get through them to hidden locations.
