Gold Bars are the best loot you can get to provide yourself with a decent amount of currency. Getting gold and getting rich isn’t that simple because you can’t sell them to regular vendors. Therefore, you are probably wondering where to sell Gold Bars in Red Dead Redemption 2. There are 5 locations where you can find the right buyer, but some of them require special access.

Red Dead Redemption 2: How to Sell Gold Bars

To sell Gold Bars, you must find and interact with Fence Vendors. These are the only NPCs who will buy this item from you. In addition to Gold Bars, these vendors will also buy various smuggled items that you couldn’t sell somewhere else.

There are a total of 5 locations where you can find Fence Vendors. In the image above, you can see the exact spot of each of them. As mentioned, you will need more time to access several of them, as you’ll need to progress through the game and complete missions.

The first Fence Vendor you will meet awaits you in Chapter 2. Here, you can complete the mission of The Spines of America. Once that’s done, head over to Emerald Ranch in The Heartland because that’s where he’ll be waiting for you. Since this merchant is locked by the mission, he will have an advantage over the others, which you can unlock as soon as you find them. His feature is that you can sell him Stagecoaches and other Wagons that you have stolen.

You can access another Fence Vendor in Chapter 3. Here, you’ll need to complete the Horse Flesh for Dinner mission, after completing which you can visit the vendor, not far north of Clemens Point. The feature of this Fence Vendor is that in addition to Gold Bars and other contraband, you can also sell him stolen horses to get a few bucks.

The other three vendors will be available to you as soon as you find them. As mentioned above, the Fence Vendors are the only ones who will buy Gold Bars from you, and for a decent price. You can sell a Gold Bar for $500, which is a good sum of money that can be used to buy a lot of different goods.
