Donald Trump‘s team hits back at a scandalous South Park episode satirizing him as viewers predict a brewing lawsuit. Earlier this week, the satirical animated series secured a whopping $1.5 billion streaming deal with Paramount, giving the platform exclusive rights to the cartoon for the next five years. The deal requires South Park producers to release ten episodes each year, pushing out an expected fifty episodes before the deal’s expiration. However, the series premiere episode, Sermon on the Mount, has fans fearing the satirical comedy may face cancellation before creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker get their chance to deliver on that deal.

The Premiere episode of South Park season 27, released under Paramount+, dropped on Wednesday, shockingly targeting the POTUS, Donald Trump. Unapologetically going back on their previous assurance that they won’t satirize Trump further, the creators not only mocked the president but also deviated from the parody’s usual style of depicting characters with a likeness to the satirized figure, opting instead to go all out with an actual cutout of Trump’s face.

This direct trolling of the president has led to speculation that the creators intended the savage dig as a rage bait for Trump. While Donald Trump has yet to bite the bait, his White House representatives have hit back at the South Park creators, describing the cartoon as a “fourth-rate” show which “hasn’t been relevant for over 20 years.” White House spokesperson Taylor Rogers, in his statement, called out the democrats for seemingly doing a 180 on their opinion of the show as “offensive” in the wake of the Trump episode. He fired,

“The Left’s hypocrisy truly has no end — for years they have come after ‘South Park’ for what they labeled as ‘offensive’ content, but suddenly they are praising the show.”

The spokesperson went on to slam the South Park creators Stone and Parker, likening them to the Left and declaring they had no “authentic or original content.” He insisted that this lack of originality was responsible for their popularity continuously hitting record lows. Elaborating further, the spokesperson added,

“This show hasn’t been relevant for over 20 years and is hanging on by a thread with uninspired ideas in a desperate attempt for attention. President Trump has delivered on more promises in just six months than any other president in our country’s history — and no fourth-rate show can derail President Trump’s hot streak.”

Notably, the White House left out Paramount in the clap-back statement despite speculations that Trump’s team would sue the company once again in response to the controversial depiction. The episode in question focused on Trump’s controlling personality, depicting the POTUS as an antagonist who sues his critics into submission, has a giant ego, small manhood, and is in a literal romance with the devil, who continuously mocks the size of his manhood.

The South Park episode notably took aim at the series of lawsuits Trump has fought and won since taking the presidential seat, including his lawsuit against Paramount over a CBS interview with Kamala Harris, which cost the studio $16 million in settlement. The episode also referenced Stephen Colbert’s ousting from CBS and the infamous He Gets Us commercials in their satirical dig at Trump. While Trump’s reaction to this dig remains unpredictable, most viewers agree it’s only a matter of time before the satirical cartoon stokes the wrong flames, especially if this season 21 premiere was a reflection of what to expect in subsequent episodes.
