Too Hot To Handle‘s Kayla Richart and Seb Melrose took season 4 of the show by storm with their whirlwind relationship. Even before they paired up, they had individually earned quite a notorious reputation — stirring up trouble and displaying a general disregard for Lana’s rules, which usually leads to massive reductions in the total prize money.
Their relationship was like wildfire, and it did not take long after their pairing before they ended up breaking Lana’s ultimate rule by having sex in the shower. After their viral sex episode, the couple was banished to the private suite to test their connection, and much to everyone’s surprise, they did not break any more rules. Interestingly, the couple finished the season without breaking any more rules and remained faithful to each other. Although they made it as finalists, they did not walk away with the remaining prize money.
The two left the show as an official couple, and their initial updates showed them trying to make things work despite being worlds apart — with the pair even making cross-continent trips to keep the flame burning. Sadly, the distance eventually got to them, and they broke things off for a while.
The pair continued to talk, and more recently, they officially got back together and even went Instagram official with a sweet joint post that showed a series of photos of them spending time together. The caption read:

Despite the apparent display of love between the two on social media, viewers of the show do not seem to be buying into their relationship and have since been airing their thoughts about the couple on social media.
Fans Feel Seb and Kayla Are Only Friends With Benefits
The jury seems to be out on Seb and Kayla’s relationship, and many of the viewers of the show feel there is no substance to it. The viewers feel that the two are only forcing a relationship for the benefit that seems to come with staying together — sex and social media clout. Many of the fans, who seem to feel strongly about the couple’s recent reunion, gathered on Reddit to make a thread where they discussed Kayla and Seb’s relationship.
Most of the users pointed out how the timing of the duo reigniting their romance perfectly coincides with the announcement of the new Netflix series Perfect Match. The fans suggested that the couple are merely friends with benefits who are milking their relationship to stay relevant because they know that is what the fanbase wants to see.
Another section of commenters aimed at the fanbase who are genuinely sold on the Kayla and Sebs relationship, querying them if they could not see through the facade. One fan wrote:
“I don’t get the fan base. The show didn’t even give them an edit that made them seem like there’s anything more sex to their relationship. Even in season 3, we had Harry and beaux who seemed more genuine, and it didn’t work out for them.”

Some THTH fans have been very critical of the couple and are not entertaining the slightest possibility that the two may be in love and trying to make things work. Many of them claim to see through the game the two are playing and even slammed them for thinking the viewers would not catch it. One particular user highlighted how the two “conveniently” got back together last month after the show had finished and revealed it was just to retain the social media clout they got coming out from the show.
The user also pointed out several things that made it quite impossible for them to want to explore a real solid relationship, including their young age and the fact they live on different continents. The general feeling was that the two are trying to milk their relationship for clout for as long as possible before announcing their split. One of the users summed up the duo’s relationship while saying:
“These relationships are nothing more than business relationships, staying relevant & milking it for likes and comments. 99% of them.”
Meanwhile, due to the fact that many of the new generations of reality TV stars tow these lines, some fans feel quite convinced that Kayla and Seb are doing the same. At the end of the day, nobody knows what truly happens behind closed doors.
