Warzone 2ย DMZ Season 5ย starts on August 2, and we’re bound to see a massive wave of new content coming to the game. However, aside from the new operators and weapons, there’ll also be some changes in the gameplay. Eachย Warzone 2ย andย MW2ย update and patch add or remove some elements from the game, changing its balance for each respective mode, like DMZ. Now if the developers are trying to stabilize the game for a better experience, here’s a list of changes we would like to see in theย new Season of DMZ mode.
5. No Superpowers in DMZ Season 5, Please

The addition of supes and superpowers inย Warzone 2ย was a fun idea.ย The Boysย crossoverย event in Season 4 Reloaded brought some new elements to the game, thus making theย Warzoneย experience look like playingย Apex Legends. You would see Captain Price beaming lasers from his eyes and Soap jumping 100 meters vertically like it’s nothing. This is not something that we’re used to in aย Call of Dutyย game.
That’s why in a recent update, they added a new playlist to the Resurgence mode called the “Supe’d Up.” Now you can only see the superpowers in this mode and not in the others. But do you remember the time that V serums were in DMZ as well? Removing them was a good call, and keeping it that way for DMZ Season sounds to be the best.
In fact, many of the DMZ players never liked superpowers in a mission-based game mode. It was fun but also ruined the experience by adding a huge amount of randomness to the game. In Resurgence mode, you can restart the game if you die while hit with lasers and electro shockwaves of supes. But in the DMZ mode, you’ll lose lots of items that you worked hard for. That is why the superpowers are not DMZ material for Season 5.
4. Mission Bugs That Prevent Players From Progressing

Suppose you’ve spent an hour trying to find items in the dark and dangerous Koschei Complex. Then you try to bring those items to another map and dead drop them somewhere to finish your mission. But, instead of the “Mission Accomplished” message, you receive nothing. This will turn a player into a goblet of fire for the next few hours.
Mission bugs were not common whenย Warzone 2ย DMZ started last year. However, the Seasons brought new factions, and new content expanded the game. Now, if you make a game bigger and don’t keep its balance, there will be problems with it, including unwanted bugs with missions.
Most of the players would probably agree that it’s ideal if the devs would delay theย Warzone 2ย DMZ Season 5 update toย fix every mission bug. It’s unfortunate to see a new update with lots of potential ruining the experience for players due to progression-breaking bugs.
3. The Plea for No Help

The plea for help systemย in the DMZ mode is a way of returning to the game after dying during the battle. You could speak to the other operators that have killed you to do a revive. The proximity chat was a great way of asking the dominating operators to help you and bring you back to accomplish a mission or exfil. But after a new update during Season 4 Reloaded, the mechanism of this system has changed.
Now if you plea for help in the DMZ mode, the team that has killed you won’t be able to revive at all. Instead, any third-party operator nearby will see your request and may respond. Most DMZ match lobbies contain very low numbers of players, and a nearby operator may never even be there to help you!
That’s why we need a rollback on this update in DMZ Season 5. In fact, players should be able to be revived by the dominating squad but not join them immediately. This update was added to the game to prevent six-man squads. Still, it is gone too far to the point that if you die in a DMZ match, your job as an operator is presumably over until the next one.
2. A New Faction Instead of Reset

This is something that has been happening during Season 4. The point of DMZ is to do missions and get rewards. But what if they tell you that they’ll reset all your progress on the missions in DMZ Season 5? That’s how several DMZ players will stop playing the mode because they’re done with doing the same faction assignments over and over again.
At this rate, there’ll be two great options available:
- A new faction can be added with new missions to the game while keeping all the previous ones with each player’s progress on them.ย
- Conversely, if the developers want to reset progression, that’s fine! But there’s a catch: please don’t add the same missions we have accomplished three times now!ย
If there’s going to be a set of whole brand new missions, then resetting the DMZ progress would make more sense.
1. Less Player Conflict in the Koschei Complex DMZ Season 5

Kochei Complex is aย unique area inside the Al Mazrahย DMZ map. This location has tons of level 3 AI and many secret rooms you can discover by solving puzzles and finding keys. Many missions in the DMZ mode ask you to go to the most dangerous locations of the Koschei Complex, and you might even face two AI bosses at the same time!
But what if you’re completing a mission and solving a puzzle you spent hours on, but suddenly, you’re killed by enemy operators? Other online players inside the Complex are a fun idea, but this area is hard enough to deal with itself. This is something that we hope to see removed from the game inย Warzone 2ย DMZ Season 5.
These are all the changes we need to make DMZ balanced in the new Season. But what do you think about these options? Do you think keeping the superpowers is a good idea? Or should you be able to revive an operator that you’ve eliminated yourself? All that is left is to wait until the DMZ Season 5 begins withย Warzone 2ย andย MW2ย update on August 2, 2023.
