Valentine’s Day might be long over, but the alleged love shown by President Trump to Putin is stronger than ever, at least according to a digital billboard in Wisconsin. A photo taken by a Redditor posting to r/wisconsin reveals a billboard in downtown Manitowoc, which reads “Trump and Putin, Lovers Since 2016.” Below the giant red and blue font, the ad states that it was generously “paid for by sane people“; to no one’s surprise, the photo’s post is packed with thrilled commenters.

“Manitowoc resident—I’m liking it. I wonder where I can find these Sane People to hang out,” remarks the top commenter, with hundreds of happy upvoters. “Love that! Nice work, Manitowoc!” exclaims a second. “Another Manitowoc resident. Wow and hooray!” cheers a third. “Love to see an accurate billboard 🤭,” laughs a fourth. Several more users also claim they are “sane” and “would also like to know where the same people are at!“

These supportive comments on the Wisconsin billboard came in just days after the alarming argument between Ukraine leader Zelensky and Trump, which left the world in shock. According to reports, Trump alluded to Zelensky’s resignation, saying, “If someone doesn’t want to make a deal, I think that person won’t be around very long.” “This is what happens when all the wrong people are put in power,” groans a commenter. “This is why billionaire narcissists shouldn’t be able to run countries,” seconds another in agreement.

Trump’s shameful support of Putin wasn’t the only thing the Manitowoc billboard displayed. It also featured “Medicaid Now, Social Security Next,” not only calling out Trump’s potential plans to harmfully change the nationwide health insurance plan but also implying that Social Security might be his next target.

Negativity and feelings of impending doom aside, it’s nice to see America-loving citizens take a stand in their own charming way. Even if it’s just a comical custom ad on a billboard, it does spark a conversation among people and fills others with hope.
