Xbox and Bethesda have officially announced their presence at Gamescom 2023. The official Gamescom Twitter account shared the news, mentioning that both companies will join the event’s show floor. This announcement marks the second major console manufacturer to confirm attendance, following Nintendo’s earlier announcement in April. Gamescom 2023 is scheduled to take place from August 23 to 27, with the highly anticipated Gamescom Opening Night Live, hosted by Geoff Keighley, set to happen on August 22.

It’s worth noting that Starfield is set to release just two weeks after the event, so it would be quite sensible to expect some more Starfield content from Bethesda. And that’s not the only big-name game from Xbox releasing soon, as Forza Motorsportย is also scheduled for release on October 10 for Xbox Series X/S and PC. Nintendo’s last appearance at Gamescom was in 2019, where they showcased games slated for later that year and provided multiple booths for attendees to enjoy. So maybe this time we’ll get to see some upcoming games in action as well.

Speaking of new Nintendo games, during a recent Nintendo Direct presentation, the company revealed a lineup of new games expected to be released by the end of 2023. Some of the titles included Super Mario Bros Wonder, Super Mario RPG, and WarioWare: Move It.

If you’re a fan of Sony, then prepare for some bad news, as it was confirmed by a German publication not too long ago that PlayStation will not be participating in Gamescom this year, as Sony would much rather reveal its titles in a showcase event.

According to Koelnmesse and the German Games Industry Association, the number of registered companies for Gamescom 2023 surpassed the previous year’s count by 10% as of mid-March. So hopefully we’ll see a list of games that’ll leave last year’s event in the dust.
