The transition from March to April usually signifies Easter is near, but Microsoft is keen to hide a few goodies in players’ libraries as we go into April. That’s right, it’s Games With Gold time once again, and this month’s lineup might not boast any so-called “marquee” additions like previous months, but nonetheless, there’s a quartet of games that’s always worth giving a shot if you’re a subscriber (and if you have Xbox Game Pass Ultimate you also get these games).

Xbox games with gold

Vikings: Wolves of Midgard takes you to the world of Nordic mythology bit with its own fantasy twist. You and your band of Viking warriors have been thrown into the deep end, and your journey will take you up into Ragnarok, complete with tons of monsters and beasts that will test your strength in battle. Fight your way through Ragnarok and face the mighty Jotan by mastering weapons including swords and shields, two-handed hammers, axes, and bows – you’ll need them to slay the fiendish creatures of Fimbulwinter. Vikings will be available for download from the start of April all the way to the end.

The next Xbox One game, Truck Racing Championship, does not follow that same trend. Instead, it starts being available from April 16 until May 15. Channel your inner truck racer as you visit locations around the globe in your giant racing trucks – did I mention you race giant trucks?

The next two GWG titles made their debuts on Xbox 360, the first of which is Dark Void. That game is similar toย Vikings, in the sense that it becomes available on April 1, but you only have until April 15 to download it, when it is replaced a day after on April 16 byย Hard Corps: Uprising, a spin-off of Konami’s Contra series. That game stops being available for free on April 30.

What do you think of this Games with Gold lineup? What would you like to see next month? Leave a comment.
