In a recently released report by the NPD group, the Xbox One was shown as the top-selling console in the US for October 2015 beating out it’s PS4 rival. Playstation even dropped the price of the PS4 in October to $350, which is the current price of the cheapest Xbox One console. In a statement from Microsoft “The strength of the greatest games lineup in Xbox history drove record Xbox Live usage for October and made Xbox One the best-selling console in the US with 81 percent growth compared to October 2014.”

The release of Halo 5: Guardians also helped push Xbox One sales with over $400 million global sales. It became the best-selling digital game ever for an opening week in the Xbox store. Halo 5 also earned a Guinness World Record for the most watched game broadcast with 330,000 streams going the night of the launch.

Microsoft certainly expects to keep its spot with The New Xbox One Experience which launched on November 12th bringing with it the feature of backward compatibility. Currently, there are 104 Xbox 360 titles that can now be played on the Xbox One. This was one of the most raved about features when it was announced at E3 this past year and certainly attracted new players and those still running on the last generation Xbox 360. The new Xbox Elite Controller also recently released and has been met with high demand and is sold out in many places until December.
