As the holiday’s approach and the big end-of-the-year launch titles are released, Xbox wants to remind us all and get you excited for backward compatibility.

Dipping into a previous-gen catalog has been an exciting prospect for almost any new generation that’s created. Xbox has of course now decided is the time for their fans and players to grab their favorites from Xbox 360 and play them on Xbox One. This week players will be able to play up to 104 XB360 games, among them are a ton of great indies and big-name titles like Castle Crashers, Mirror’s Edge, Fallout 3, Torchlight, and Beyond Good & Evil HD; just to name a few.

That’s a solid shortlist, especially if the last-gen was one you came in too late or missed out on entirely. Unfortunately, there will still be some major titles that fans have been clamoring for that will not make the list this time around. Xbox opened the doors for fan submissions a while back at E3, asking which games people would want to see in the backward compatibility library. Most of the votes were no big surprise, Black Ops 2, Halo: Reach, Red Dead Redemption, Skyrim. What may be disappointing is that many of the top games that were voted for are not included among the first 104. In a recent blog post, Xbox did confirm that Halo: Reach will be added in the near future.

Since the launch of Xbox One, your input and feedback have helped shape the future of gaming at Xbox, including making Xbox One Backward Compatibility a reality.

If you want to continue to vote for your favorites, head over to Xbox.UserVoice.comĀ and let Microsoft and the Xbox team know. Until that time the team working on the growing list promises some pretty big heavy hitters:
